Midnight Meat Train

The movie was pretty good. My friends absolutely hated it, and thought the ending was "stupid". They said they liked it when it was just a crazy killer guy, and the ending was just too much. :csad:

Question:
What the hell were those things Vinnie was cutting off his chest and putting in jars?

Quick question.

Did the ending involve the creatures and the one big monster?

If so, I laugh at people when they instantly hate the ending and call it "stupid" as some of your friends did. Same for other horror films that twist at the end like this one. I've given some of my own friends **** for hating on movies that happened to do a sudden twist at the end.

If it were just Mahogany, that would have been incredibly boring. Glad you liked it.

The end just had a bunch of normal size monsters eating the bodies on the train. The conductor comes out after Mahogany dies and explains things, and rips out/eats the photographer's tongue.

Yeah, I said that as well. I guess they just wanted another usual psycho killer flick.

Saw it on FearNet. Its now playing through October on that channel if people are still interested in seeing it but havent yet.

Its was good. The effects were better than I expected. The acting was very welldone.

Fearnet is the OnDemand thing right? What did it cost?

OOH!! I'm going straight home tonight to watch it!

Thanks cerealkiller....I to will be watching it tonight

There's something I'm really not getting about this movie. It sounds like the people behind it put thought into a good twist. So why is it that this movie gets the runaround, yet M. Night's films find themselves arriving and bombing at the box office at his leisure?

Studio politics. A new studio head came into power and out of spite canned a bunch of the ex-studio heads projects (supposedly)

IMDB:
A new manager of Lionsgate took over the company and due to internal politics is dumping the ex's films. Midnight Meat Train is one of the unfortunate films to suffer over immature and selfish management. Thus, taking away the films chances of making a success out of itself.

Its IMDB so take it with a grain of salt

Well, I've heard that much from other horror sites that got scoops on this. Still, it makes no sense. I see no reason why this couldn't have turned a profit, regardless of who was initially behind it.

It wasnt properly distributed for other reasons other than the quality of the film.

No wai..... it's free on demand? *runs to the living room*

What is fear.net. I guess I don't have it. I really wanted to see this flick. I don't get why they trashed it & dumped it in dollar theatres. It looks so good. I was looking forward to it.

How many times must we go over it. The new guy in charge of lionsgate hated the old guy, so he got rid of MMT, and put his own The Strangers movie in the spotlight. MMT went to dollor theaters based on rules set up in the guilds in hollywood where movies have to be released in a cetain amount of theaters. They also used doller theaters because if the movie turned a certain profit, then they'd have to be some people. Which is something the new head didn't want to do cus he's an a-hole.

It's that I can't wrap my head around it. I heard about the internal BS with Joe Drake. But this movie could have made a profit. It's bad business to dump a movie because of some hissy fit. It should be about making money, not who's d*** is bigger.

I found it on Free Movies on Demand, sub-> FEARnet. Channel 918 to those with Time Warner. :)

They got all kinds of good stuff on this channel. :woot:

I'm about 1/2 hour in and it's pretty good so far...brutal as ****. I saw "Rampage" Jackson's little 5 minute scene.

OMG Thanks a lot. I got fear.net! I just moved out of state and got this new cable 3 weeks ago. I haven't even looked at the on demand until now.

I gonna watch it now. :woot:

Just finished it...I really liked it. The film was pretty gory, it was rated TV MA, is that just equivalent to R? I thought it was much much better then films like Saw, and the other horror films of late. My only problem was it was so damn dark on my TV, I couldn't see some scenes :cmad:

I loved it. Gory & brutal. Crazy ending

BTW what was growing off Vinnie Jones' chest?

I haven't read Barker's short story in quite some time so I can't quite remember. I think when the 'old ones' marked him like they marked the photographer it caused them to slowly start changin, or maybe more like an infection from them.

I just got done watching it and overall I liked it a lot. Only problem was I don't see how or why they would botch up the ending...kind of pissed me off.

There was supposed to be a lot more of those creatures not to mention the creatures/old ones never showed the photographer the 'Big one'. They were also feeding a giant Lovecraft like monster that was the leader.

I could understand if they didn't have the budget for it but that would have made this film a just about perfect film version of the story.

8/10 maybe 8.5/10.
