Apocalypse Mighty as a hurricane, Gentle as the summer rain. Alexandra Shipp is Storm - Part 3

I wish you were as well Lightning I truly do.

It would be epic. The shock-wave I'd produce would be felt throughout ALL of Hypedom...right from here on this little thread.

Anyway. I'm disgusted by the news. Like, utterly so. I was just messaging CB Fan about it. I'm actually not even angry--I'm tired and exhausted. And disgusted. To think I believed for a second that they were taking this opportunity to start fresh with a new actress and get the character right. :whatever: It was never about Halle Berry then. And it's apparently not about Alexandra Shipp now. Even the reviews are saying little about Storm--so clearly she didn't register...again.

This is about this damned studio and Bryan Singer. It has always been about them for the last 16 years and the continued sidelining of Storm proves that ain't s*** changed. I'm so done.

Exactly I totally agree with your last statement I'm so confused as to why they won't utilize Storm the proper way I mean come on the greatest female superhero of color on your roster and they just do nothing with her. Of course I'm going to see the movie but I truly want a different director and just a fresh new team to go in and do things right. This is a new day and age they can't afford these constant mistakes with so many others doing it right. It's time for a change. I've even tried writing to the correct people for a change but nothing yet.

And yet they have the audacity to already be talking about the next film being set in the 1990s? :whatever:

I know some of my friends here have messaged me asking why I post less and less with each subsequent X-Movie and crap like this is the main reason why: it actually hurts to invest so much emotionally in these FOX-Men films now. Hopes get lifted and then they're dashed when we learn that basically the trailers are giving us the best of what they've got on Storm...again. They are so pseudo. And it's not just Storm that has been marginalized--Jean and Scott are as well. Meanwhile, you have The Mockingbird's ass walking around dipped in a bucket of blue paint (occasionally), trying to act like she's Storm running s*** at X-Mansion??? Give me a goddamn break.

Their priorities are all screwed up.

And we're does it say she has so much to say through all that as I said your point is moot. She isn't fully developed in the movie enough to compare her with Halle so again cool it. It'd never said she said anything when she is seeing Mystique being choked or as she is attacking Cyclops that's not development. Seriously? More action dosent equate development or a character being fleshed out if she is mostly mute. I cannot:whatever:

She may not be fully developed but didn't you get more excited that Storm on the previous x-men films? We even got a lot of awesome Shipp/Storm gifs already.

Bith regard to development, yes she is not fully developed. But we were talking about screentime. I should have said compared to DoFP so that my statement was clear.

Prolly it's not yet her time and we still have to wait for the right director to make her the main characters and make her awesome.

For now, let's just be happy that Storm's in the movie.

Yes! Yes! YES! I just hope that the reviews give them a wake up call like X3 did.

But that's just it...clearly they didn't get a wake-up call from X3. For Storm's next outing in X4 (Days Of Future Past) she had two lines before they threw her ass over the mountainside into the clouds below. :whatever:

Now we're hearing we have another take on Storm with no improvement on her predecessor: Logan isn't leading the X-Men this time, now we've got Katniss in the mix (and they still managed to shoehorn Wolverine in there because he's their crutch of salvation). So they didn't learn from X3. They are still on the Suck. It's disgusting. :csad:

I think out of all the women that attended the red carpet, Jennifer looked the best while Sophie had the best outfit. I don't like Alexandra's outfit but I liked that its tribal looking, which is fitting for someone who's playing Storm.

You are so right!

Jennifer can play as the White Queen too. :)

I hope the new director will do well.

It's indeed exhausting and just so frustrating.

I was never one of the "give it back to Marvel" people, but really, I now pray for Storm to be part of the Avengers somehow. There's just no hope for her as long as this creative team handles her. And the worst part is I just know she won't become an Avenger anytime soon.

I hope to see Storm's teacher in the movie.

Chadwick Boseman and Alexandra Shipp pairing? What do you think? :)

I can only pray that her involvement with NM is true and she finally gets some development. Of all the things I seen about the bad reviews this is the biggest gut punch. Tbs i am happy Cyclops got a good story finally. Though he isn't even the leader... yet.

She should get the main role, lead the New Mutants and beat the villain.

I want Shipp to wear this Storm costume

Yes!!!

I hate to say it, but it pains me to imagine what a creative team hired by Marvel would accomplish if they were giving the task of introducing a character like Storm. We may never get anything more than the watered down, meaningless version we get in these films :csad:

It's Fox'es fault. They never want MCU to share/borrow the X-men characters to them.

I know how it feels like, especially on the bolded part. But at least we've got more from her in this movie. And Tthe movie has been promoted heavily with Storm in it so it's a great exposure for the comic character and Alexandra Shipp.

The New Mutants may be the movie that we're waiting for since for now, the movie didn't state Magneto and Mystique will be in it so I think she'll be mentoring the new mutants.

I'm beyond disgusted with what I'm hearing about Storm's "arc" in this movie.

I'm just over everything involving X-Men with FOX. I'm not even gonna go see it. I'll just catch it when it starts showing on HBO or something. I'm not wasting my money on seeing Storm just standing around being irrelevant anymore. :nuhu:

I was never apart of that either. But, now I really hope they do... Do anyone know what will happen if they have her in the new Black Panther movie? Like, can FOX sue them or something?

I never said I wasn't excited unlike you who likes to base judgement on a movie you haven't seen. I really wish you would stop posting unnecessary messages saying nothing at all it's really annoying.

Oh so you work for the Fox studio? It's not as one sided as you think both parties play a role in the situation we are in now. Stop trying to only place blame on one party.
