'Mimic' television series in development

A ‘Mimic’ Reboot TV Series is Coming From Paul W.S. Anderson and I Am Unreasonably Excited

Miramax Television just announced they are rebooting Guillermo del Toro’s 1997 giant insect horror film Mimic as a TV series, with schlock auteur Paul W. S. Anderson producing and potentially directing the pilot episode.

Now this news has officially made my day. I love the original GDT film and it's still one of my favorite creature features of the 90's and is very underrated/underappreciated IMO. I just hope they go for more practical effects with the giant bugs and less CGI like they did with the sequels. Paul W.S. Anderson being involved is the only thing that has me on the fence, but I'm willing to give the pilot a chance at least.

Great news. I really enjoy Mimic, even though it was butchered by the Weinsteins. The clashing of GDT and PWSA's sensibilities should be interesting.
