Some Holidays are big enough to merit thrier own thread, like Christmas, Kwanzaa or Chanukah. Some holidays are so little known that they don't deserve their own thread. So put all Random Little-known Cultural, national, or religous holidays here, Whether it be National Internet Day, Vesak, St. George's day, Tu b'shavat, or Día del Trabajo, post it here.

Tonight is the begining of a week-long Jewish Holiday known as Sukkos (tabernacles). happy Tabernacles to any jew on the boards!

Really? Well this one amazes me, I mean we get the freaking day off work for God's sake. What are we supposed to be doing....honoring those who died fighting for the South?

I hope everyone here had a lot of fun with a Pole on May day. ;)

Oh, and FYI the first Friday in May is supposed to be "No Pants (Trousers) Day"

You get the day off?! ****. I haven't had a holiday off since... well I got put on furlough and everyday is a holiday, but before that never.

May 24th is Victoria Day in Canada, but we always celebrate on the Monday following the day (if it doesn't fall on a Monday). We call it the "May Two Four" weekend, and traditionally Canadians buy at least one "Two Four" of beer (each) and shoot off fireworks.
