Mission: Impossible 3

yeah thats why i still like Carrie or Kate for the female lead

I agree. :)
Beckinsale is suppose to start work on a film with Adam Sandler soon though.
Moss is filming now but it's a small film and should be finished soon.

Interesting news Green! Jonathan Rhys-Meyers has the look of a villian, which is probably what he is up for.

He could be a great villain IMO.

From CS

little bit more on the story

Michelle Monaghan (Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Syriana) and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (CBS' Elvis, Bend It Like Beckham) are in talks to join Tom Cruise and Ving Rhames in Mission: Impossible 3, reports Production Weekly.

The
film is set to start filming in Caserta, Italy on July 18th. J.J. Abrams (ABC's Lost and Alias) will direct the sequel written by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.

The Royal Palace, known as the 'Reggia', will be used to recreate the interior of the Vatican for scenes contained in the third installment's script.

Tom Cruise spent yesterday afternoon on Oprah jumping up and down like a 1st grader on speed and stopping just short of carving TC + KH 4EVER! on his forehead. But those rumors that his newfound love would help cast Katie Holmes in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 3? Not true. And poor Linds. Despite her highest hopes, it doesn't look like she'll be heading overseas this summer to work with Tommy Boy. Cruise and director JJ Abrams have found their M:I3 star and it's neither of the two rumored actresses above but instead Michelle Monaghan (KISS, KISS, BANG, BANG). The actress has joined the cast along with Jonathan Rhys-Meyers who recently starred as Elvis in the CBS biopic of the same name. While it's been rumored that the female role was the same one vacated by Carrie-Anne Moss, that's not been confirmed as Abrams has said he pretty much jettisoned the existing script when he came aboard. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci wrote the latest draft with a polish by Abrams himself. Filming is scheduled to begin on July 18th in Italy where the Royal Palace will stand in for the Vatican where certain pivotal scenes take place. Interesting...

oh btw you guys are talking about not seeing lohan in this type of flick, is weird cause i never saw katie holmes in a batman flick, i dont even think she deserves a role in the movie, whats the point of her being in it?

Do you mean Katie doesn't deserve a role in Begins?

If that is what you mean then you are wrong. We all know the reason fanboys dislike the inclusion of Holmes in the film is because she did some crappy T.V show, which is a dumb reason to say the least.

Yeoh Wanted For "Hannibal" & M:I-3

Taiwan news agency UDN and MichelleYeoh.Info report that two big budget Hollywood projects, Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible 3" and the "Young Hannibal" prequel are interested in Michelle Yeoh for roles.

Producers of both films apparently met Michelle at Cannes last week. Michelle has been in talks with Mission Impossible 3 for a while. The filmmakers of "Young Hannibal" contacted her at Cannes when she was about to fix the deal with Mission.

She's interested in both but the filming schedules are somewhat in conflict so the producers of the two films are apparently talking to each other since neither of them wants to give up on Michelle.

Earlier this year, news came Gong Li had been cast in "Young Hannibal as a woman who "teaches cultural sophistication to a young Hannibal Lecter." It's not the same role Michelle has been offered.

ha nope thats not it. its cuz she hasnt had that much of a wide range of acting, i know she did some movie as a goth chick with a fackd up family or something. but she just seems like that innocent girl next door. i mean like real innocent. i dont see what the hell she can bring to the film.

what's all this talk about the plug being pulled on MI:3?

Ive never seen or heard anything that would lead me to believe that right now, one disappointment is enough today.

I was in the X Men boards and someone said something about Abrams doing X Men 3. They said he might have a chance since there is talks of Paramount pulling the plug.

Found something, not a whole lot of info though!

As seen on www.defamer.com & www.huffingtonpost.com:

_____________________________________________________

"The Huffington Post has learned that Paramount is considering pulling the plug on 'Mission: Impossible III,' the Tom Cruise sequel that is set to start production later this year.

On the surface, things seem to be moving forward with the film, with production crews scouting locations in China, and the Hollywood trades filled with casting announcements and rumors (was Michelle Monaghan in, was Lindsay Lohan out, was new Cruise love interest Katie Holmes being considered?). But behind the scenes, the studio appears ready to cancel the mega-pricey film."

Interesting, ive got to admit,we went from Fincher directing a and a frank darabont script to the guy who makes Alias which is a bit odd, however i doubt the film will be cancelled, unless cruise wants to do Iron Man instead

Wouldn't you think he would want to at least make one more, he has put some time into it. It's obvious with the director changes that it is something he has a passion for!
