Well yea, the car going through the window was for effect, but isnt really a smart move. Doc Ock doesnt know Peter is Spidey, so why would he chuck a freaking car at someone who he thinks is a normal person that couldnt possibly dodge it. But whatever its just little nitpicking.

It's simple. Raimi sacrificed logic for dramatic effect. It would have been just as good if Ock smashed thru the window of the cafe with his tentacles.

It's a gorgeous scene. But when you stop and think about it (and I wouldn't consider it legit nitpicking) it's pretty friggin' ******ed.

In Ock's mind it didnt matter whether he killed Pete or not.Ock was cold and didnt give a damn about killing anyone let alone Peter because he figured that if Spiderman based on the info Harry gave him about Spidey being close to Peter would show up at the scene anyway for the sake of his friend. This is all Ock wanted any way. When the car missed, he merely spared his life by threatening to kill MJ if he didnt give the messege to Spidey.So in all intention I dont think he cared about killing Peter, he doesnt know they are the same person.
