Mlb 2k7

God no. Hawk shouldn't even be allowed to look at this game let alone have his annoying calls be in it.

this game is waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than mlb 2k6 (and 2k5) and these graphics are amazing. go download the demo. DO IT

God no. Hawk shouldn't even be allowed to look at this game let alone have his annoying calls be in it.

But you gotta admit, if it was just for that one player, it would be hilarious.

No, no it wouldn't be. It'd be incredibly painful. I'd trade the game in if his voice was in this.

Wow someone's got a grudge. And for an ex-Red Sox player nonetheless.

I don't have a grudge against Hawk. I just hate him because he is the worst announcer in baseball history.

The reason why everyone hates him is the same reason why almost every White Sox fan loves him.

I totally understand why fans of other teams don't like him. But White Sox fans like the Hawk because even though his play by play isn't actual play by play, his emotion for the team makes up for it. Harry Carey was in the same vein of that, its just that he was most know for being the lovable Cubs announcer, but what is hardly ever told is that before going to the Cubs, he announced for the White Sox in the same way and Cubs fans HATED him for the way he called the game and called Sox fans dumb for liking Harry, much like you are doing. Then he goes over there and they fall in love with the guy. See it doesn't matter that he is the biggest homer in the game to White Sox fans, he is our homer. Yeah he is goofy and blatantly one sided, but he does call out the team, like last year, when they deserve it.

If common sense means having the likes of Joe Buck as an announcer, supposedly one of the premier announcers, I'll take a pass and drink more of the kool aid.

There's a difference between being passionate and being blatantly biased to the point of being intolerable. Hawk falls in the latter. I would never want to have an idiot call a game like that for my team. Even if he was "my homer".

The simplest way I can explain it is that Hawk reacts as a fan would to any given situation in the game, if something bad happens, he is not going to act or put on a show, if something good happens, vice versa.

People over exaggerate when it comes to not calling out the team though. Because, especially last season, he does do it. He literally said when Iguchi made some brain dead mistake on the base paths "Well what the hell was he thinking?" And thats exactly what White Sox fans were thinking as well. This is pointless though, you can't really understand it unless you are a fan of the White Sox.

And as for the website, on the forum the majority of the posts ranting about Hawk are the same people.

U two played 2K7 yet? I dont think you will be dissapointed.

Can't, busted 360, haven't gotten around to sending it in yet. Plus I am waiting for some reviews just to get a better idea of how the game is. Do you know if its possible to upload custom music, like batter intro music, stuff like that?

But as batter intros in game as well? If so, thats awesome. I thought I read something that you could.

Im pretty sure you can, i havent done it so im not 100% but there is an option to select custom music, stadim music and batter intros.

Ign.com says 7.9

So far my only gipe is that it seems as if the pitchers tire too easily. It could be just me tho.

Yeah I was reading that just now too. Is it true that there is a lot of slow down?

I didnt notice any slowdown that took my attention away from the game. Every now and then when there is a pop fly it will seem as if the player is in slow mo just as hes about to make the catch, but its extremely brief. I also notcied what they mentioned in the hesitation step in the base running dept, but it didnt deter from the gameplay. I pretty much agree with that review, and i still feel its one of the best sports games iv played.

You're right, I don't understand. I don't get why anyone would want an announcer like him who acts like some idiot fan and makes up stupid catch phrases and shuts up whenever the opposing team does something.

That site is to prove not all White Sox fans love Hawk.

Another ChiSox fan here, and I'll add my 0.02 on Hawk.

He's awesome.

The guy's so creative with nicknames and hawkisms...it's sick.

He Gone!
Can-O-Corn!
GASSS!
YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD.....YYEESSS!!!

One Dog, Big Hurt, PeaPod, El Cabio (sp?), the nickname list goes on and on.

I only wish Wimpy(or should I say the Duke) was still in the booth with him.

Losing Hawk would be on par with the Hawks losing Pat Foley.
This is coming from a person the thinks losing Foley was the darkest day in sports history.

Not everyone likes him, but i sure do.

as far as that anti-hawk website, it was probably started by mariotti.
here's a site of hawk lovers www.soxtalk.com

Just got this game, will probably play it once I move to my new apartment on Thursday

At least Pat Foley is still doing games for the Chicago Wolves.

But yeah, losing Hawk would suck. Do you remember last year I think it was a game against the Royals where Crede made a diving stop
*crack of bat*
Hawk: And that ball hit..CREDE ONCE AGAIN!! BUT CAN HE GET HIM? *throw to first in time* HEEEYESSS!! JOE CREDE!"
Its going to suck the day he retires, not going to get emotion like that from anyone else.
