The thing is, I think half the people here who criticize Cars 2 haven't even seen it.
I've seen it, but it is one of those movies that you don't even have to see to know that it isn't that good.

Looks great. They also found a great way to keep showing us this monster world, so I'm all for it.
I'm not a big fan of Pixar getting into sequels of its own material. The Toy Story trilogy is an instant classic, but Cars 2 was not on par with their previous movies, it's sad but true.

There's one thing about the Cars movies that I just can't stand. Specially and more notorious in the second one, there's a basic problem with the premise of the cars. I know is obvious, but please try to follow me. Cars in the real world are made to transport people. That's their main purpose, that's why they are created for. But in the Cars world in the movies, is pointless. It drives me insane just to think about it. There are red buses in London. What is it transporting?? I just feel like that world lacks something, there's something there that doesn't click for me. I feel like the humans need to be there, somehow; there's a human element missing. Some of the ideas are very good, very Pixar-like. But there's something incredibly distracting for me, that doesn't allow me to completely enjoy the movies.

I just assumed that there must have been some Skynet/Judgment Day event that wiped out all humans and left the machines in charge. The world we are seeing in Cars takes places long after that when the machines have forgotten what their original purposes were and just go on as sentient beings.

Funny, I had a similar theory in my mind, where I tried to put every Pixar film in a single timeline.

I saw on IMDB that Ken Jeong and Rob Riggle are doing voices in this.

You know we're gonna get some satirical takes on hazing and frats.

I don't think they're not that great, but at the same time, their reputation precedes them. To a fault. And in some ways, it left a stigma that Pixar can't shake off even with the release of an original film, Brave.

With anything, Pixar has plenty on their plate with their more ambitious projects in the future.

Maybe like in WALL-E, the humans left the Earth in their spaceships.

Wall-E, Ratatouille, and Up were in development/production BEFORE Disney bought Pixar in late 2006. Don't forget it takes 3 or 4 years to make these animated films.

That was a completely different, non-pixar, production of Toy story 3 that existed at that time.

Yes, becuse you can know all about a film and have a proper opinion without even seeing it. Quite an argument to give when you actually are discussing a film with someone who has seen it.

One of the main problems with Cars 2 was to switch from McQueen to Mater as the main protagonist. Mater is, at best, a secondary character.

Somebody spent a lot of time putting that together. Every single link is active.

Wow I LOVE that website. Spent a lot of time looking at all the details. Great job :awesome:

I was just reminiscing about the first movie and something bugs me.

In Monsters Inc, Mike teases Sully about how he was jealous about his good looks since fourth grade. But isn't stated that they met until they are on University.

Monsters Inc is one of my absolute Pixar favorites. Very curious about this prequel. Though a part of me is a bit skeptic of a few things. Definitely a movie I'll catch in the cinema though.
