World Burton's Concept Art

This has been in the back of mind for ages and I hope someone on here can help.

I remember reading a UK based mag called Starburst and it was previewing Superman Lives/Reborn and in the article it said that Roxette would be doing the title song for the movie (just like Seal 'Kiss From A Rose' for Batman Forever) and it was going to be called 'Wish I Could Fly'

A few years after the project went into development hell Roxette released a single called 'Wish I could Fly' with a chorus;

"i wish i could fly
out in the blue
over this town
followin' you
i'd fly over rooftops
the great boulevards
to try to find out
who you really are
who you really are"

Here is the song on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBswiNn23RU

Did anyone else read this article or know if what I read was true? I cant find any evidence anywhere!!

yes, this is true and we are so close on getting to it. they even show us the pictures of nic cage in full superman costume! we were not very impress because apparently, the costume does not have the traditional "S" and at first we were like "who is this?"

anyway, the project was cancelled we went our own way

Oh, right. Makes sense now. Thanks! So the final updated suit would have been like...

this? Allthough with the silver S perhaps?

Could somone repost what this pic was?

Also, is there a way to see what the final SL suit (the one at the end) would've looked like?

So does anyone know if Courtney Cox was officially in talks with the role of Lois Lane or is her name just one that was thrown around with the producers ?

I've heard both Courtney Cox & Sandra Bullock were the two that were considered, but I'm really curious as to know which one would have gotten the role....

Nevermind, I found out Sandra Bullock was only the name thrown around during when Robert Rodriguez was offered to direct it before Tim Burton....

Courteney Cox was the name thrown when Burton / Peters were on board.... Also in my research, I found this NICELY fan made Tim Burton / Nic Cage Superman youtube video...

Enjoy

More character/merchandise designs from the never-made "Superman Lives" film have been posted on TimBurton.jp.
The images show designs for Brainiac’s Skull Ship Maquette, concept art for Superman's Eradicator Suit (with pulsing light energy) that was to restore Superman's powers during a period of darkness on Earth, concept art for the Eradicator itself (a humanoid construct designed by Jor-El to be his son's protector), and a Superman design labelled "Classic Suit Superman" which includes an all new, contemporized “S” shield, and the addition of chest armor and shoulder pads

Check out TimBurton.jp for additional images of the poster designs, blueprints for Superman's tomb, and Superman's recovery suit.

Lol, awesome. But I thought Tim was only going to voice Brainiac and Kevin Spacey was actually going to be the one to portray him via Lexiac.

This movie needs to be made. It sounds like an awesome movie, but a terrible Superman movie.

So, Burton, get crackin' on your first straight-to-DVD film.

I wouldn't mind if they did a straight-to-DVD animated film (with designs based on Burton's desired cast) of this. I would actually buy it in a heartbeat, it would work as an Elseworld-type story.

It might be more plausible if it were an animated film, done slightly tongue-in-cheek. Superman: Doomsday did the robot spider along with Kevin Smith as a bystander.

Courtney Cox would have been a good Lois Lane actually.

i still subscribe to the idea that, although bizarre and completely unlike any Superman we knew,or any previous movies,it would'vew been a hell of an entertaining ride!

I'd rather see Burton's Superman than what we got in Superman Returns. No doubt that Burton's flick would have been just as bad a Superman movie as SR, but it would be a better quality product otherwise, to that I have little doubt. And way more entertaining for sure.
