Hopefully Cole dies. I thought it was a waste of Lewis Tan in a role made just for the movie. Why not use him as Johnny Cage in the first movie?

Seriously, I’ll never understand why the studio mandated that they center the movie on an a new audience surrogate character WHEN JOHNNY ALREADY IS THAT CHARACTER. God what a horrible script. I’m sorry if this is rude, but I can’t believe some of you guys are seriously excited for this sequel after that last movie. It’s very, very difficult to build a good franchise on a bad foundation (see: the DCEU).

And with Johnny Cage coming in, Cole is now a redundancy.

I wouldn’t mind seeing him as a revenant though. Or even as a reworked Takeda.

I’m okay with seeing Cole as a revenant. And by that, I mean that I wouldn’t mind seeing him mauled by grizzly bear and left for dead in the middle of the woods.

The movie may have had a ton of structural problems making it a bad movie. But I easily understand why fans of the IP enjoyed it. Usually, you get new characters each game, so Cole was never a big issue, imo.

Yeah it’s not that deep to me. When a movie is bad I just move on. I’m interested to see the sequel on its own merits. Plus I think Tan has a lot of potential, so I’m hoping he gets more to do.

It's not the actors fault no one blames him for taking the gig it's the producers who thought a new character should be in the film when they could have chosen so many other in game characters that the fans would have accepted

I mean I don’t even care that they introduced a new character in the film as the lead. I just wish they’d do something interesting with him that actually adds to the lore. Make him someone you’d want to play as in the games. Because no one wants to play as a character that has to get his ass beat to channel a power up.
