I think MK9 went a little too over the top with the scantily clad designs, but im not against it as long as its in character. Sonya looked ridiculous in MK9, its not in character for her to look like a stripper, but as far as Mileena is concerned its in character for her to be "skanky" so for me I like Mileena to be scantily clad and im kinda dissapointed with how covered up she is in MKX. Characters like Kitana or Jade im fine with their MK9 looks, but im also fine with Kitanas MKX look, for them it could go either way, but yeah in short the design should match the character, they shouldnt make every female skanky and they shouldnt make every female covered up either

I didn't even like it for Mileena. And I didn't find it to be in-character either. Sure, in past games she was always more sensual than Kitana, but she was also a cunning assassin who thought she deserved the Throne over Kitana. In MK9 she was in "skanky" mode and that was it. Any characterization that was build up over the past 8 MK games, was basically tossed out the window. Same for Kitana, who went from a capable warrior Princess that was secretly plotting to rebel against Shao Kahn, to a naive princess who doesn't have the slightest clue what is actually going on, and just becomes a damsel in distress.

While MK9 was a great game and I'm glad that it revived the franchise for the new generation, there were a bunch of characterization changes, that I simply wasn't happy with.

thanks for the welcome im moving to my new house on april 18th, and bought a 65" 4K 3D tv for when I move as well as the PS4, so I might just wait to play MKX on april 18th when I get my new TV setup, I think it'd be worth the wait to see it on that tv!

I didnt know you could just port over your PS3 account, ill do that. So the one account will work on PS3 and PS4 simultaneously?

i'd say Mileena is the best female candidate in MK to be "sexed up" they really started pushing her sex appeal in MKD and MKA and then it reached its highest point in MK9, but yes she was never overly "sexy" in the old games, thats a more recent change from NRS. I do like some "sexiness" for the females in MK, to me its an adult game, and there is something very entertaining about a mysterious sexy woman using her sexiness to hide the monster underneath, it just works, and if anyone needs to be sexed up Mileena is the best choice IMO

I agree with you on MK9 characterization though, they really dropped the ball on that, they tried to cram in too much in too short a time, so a lot of important character elements were dropped. I hate that mileena was a "newborn" in MK9, I loved in the original timeline that she fought alongside jade and kitana for centuries as shao kahns assassins before Kitana learned the truth, made for a much more interesting story IMO but it is what it is...I think the woman are so conservatively dressed in MKX because of all the slack they got in MK9, but most of that was from Sonya's outfit I think because on her it was extremely out of place and silly, it seemed most people were okay with the other female looks, I didnt have any issue with how jade or kitana looked in MK9, sexy but not too over the top

It just didn't feel balanced to me. The men over the years got some really awesome and intricate designs. With each game the costumes looked more detailed and complex than the last. Then you had the females, where the mindset was to use as little fabric as possible.

Now they are finally putting some actual effort into the female designs.
