The first Predator is a million times better than the others put together. But Predator 2 & Predators aren't bad. If you're enough of a fan of both franchises and tolerant to crap you might enjoy the others too.

Honestly, if it weren't for Wolf, I wouldn't even acknowledge AvP:R's existence. But to see him in action, makes the major suckiness of the movie somewhat bearable.

In fact, don't just about all the Predators get killed in these movies? For such a bad ass race, they seem to lose all the damn time. Hell, one of em lost to Sgt. Roger 'Im to old for this s**t' Murtaugh. Like really?

Easy, Harrigan cut his teeth in one of the most violent urban precincts in the peak crime waves of the nineties. Full badass, none of the reluctancy of Murtaugh.

In the first film the whole cast of Arnie and his marines are the stars as well as the Predator himself. One of my all-time favourite films.

They were just generally terribly written and acted. Wolf "lost" but so did the Alien.. because you can't have Vs movie and give us a clean winner because you'll upset one of the fans. Boo Hoo and all that jazz.

The Predators that lose are generally Young Bloods. The Predators at the end of 2, more so the Elder.. Would not have lost, lol.

I find the first AvP bearable. Despite the silly moments, I can be entertained watching the fights. It's such a waste of potential, though.

Now, AvP:R and its FREAKING DARK screen is extremely annoying. And the close camera in some fights. The Predator and the Predalien are the only nice things in that movie and that's saying a lot.

Horrible to poor writing is to blame. The Yautjas (Predators) are badasses. They're over 7 feet tall and 330+ pounds, but they move like ninjas. That's insane athleticism. The Yautjas prefer to die in battle like the Samurai anyways. Very few make it Elderhood. I'm sure Wolf and Jungle didn't give a damn that they were gonna 'lose'. A good kill/hunt and a good personal death is all they live for.

See I find R more watchable. There was a runaway Baywatch like scene with Scar and whats her face in the first one for crying out loud. I bought that dvd the day it came out because I missed it in theaters.. Ejected it and threw it away, lol.

I kracked and pre-ordered the kollectors edition, the one with the coarse scorpion statue, but I dont know if ill end up getting it, at the time my EB (gamestop) didnt have the limited edition (which is the version I wanted) but now they do so I might switch to that

another debate im having is if I should get it on PS4 or Xboxone, I dont have either console but im going to buy one soon, I want xbox so I can play killer instinct too, but i'd prefer mkx on ps4 because xbox controller sucks for fighting games, anyone have any suggestions?

I was tempted by that one, but didn’t like the look of the figure, just didn’t scream Scorpion to me, but then the other looks a little Assassins Creed-ish.. I’m more bummed that I have to fork out extra for the Kombat pack, which I was undecided on when they announced Jason but now Predators in I need to get it… only hope the reviews for MK:X aren’t really bad (but I’m optimistic they’ll be good!)

The XB pad isn’t so bad for fighting games, least I had no trouble with Killer Instinct but I do prefer the layout rather than the PS4 one, it’s the thumbstick placement that throws me off especially in FPS’s.
It depends on your preference really and if there’s any exclusives you want over the other – Bloodborne or HALO5, Tomb Raider (which is only timed AFAIK) or Uncharted.. I know people will always start a war over resolution and such, but to me I got XBO cause it’s what I like to play and it’s become the entertainment hub as well as a gaming console.

So, I'm assuming you guys do know that there was two KEs with Scorpion statues, right? There's the Coarse one that's more stylized, and then was another with him running that looks to be the classic design.

Only thing keeping it from that is some technical issue, or more likely bad netcode and shoddy matchmaking.

You know I was thinking of doing the exact same thing. I already have enough Pop Vinyl’s and Aiden from Watch Dogs on my shelf and although it looks like a great statue, and the steelbook (comic I can take or leave) and the skin pack, it makes more sense to me (and my wallet) to get the premium digital one with the Kombat Pack included..

The XBO’s d-pad isn’t great, it’s not my choice of weapon so to speak but I manage ok with the thumbsticks and will probably pick up the fight pad (if I can sweet talk the gal at GAME.. or the guy, my charm knows no bounds) into getting a discount or something.
KI is pretty good, it’s not amazing or anything but nostalgia of the SNES days made me grab it with my day one edition, I’m jealous that SF5 is PS exclusive but can’t afford both consoles.. BloodBorne is another that I wish wasn’t exclusive.
Nice to see you think things through logically and decide on your console of choice. It’s nice here, there’s no crazy fanboys starting flame wars like on other sites.

Agree with you on that, they should announce what can and can't be bought separately.. I don't know why the Kollector Edition in the US gets the Kombat Pack included, but the UK doesn't, plus GAME here have the monopoly on Goro with preorders..

Hmm you are onto something there thinking about it, I've only ever got one season pass (Titanfall) but everything was available providing people wanted to buy it separately.
