Mos Def cast as Baxter Stockman

This all but confirms Fitchner for Shredder, which, doesn't bother me.

 

i hope not! don't mind if he plays a human Kraang though, but he is no Shredder

i do like Mos Def as Baxter though. he's a really underrated actor.

 

Fitchner confirmed in an interview he is The Shredder.

This news really helps to offset the Fitchner news. Love me some Mos Def.

 

Mos Def is a great actor and is pretty much perfect for this kind of role. He pretty much played a nerdy, tech-y kind of character in The Italian Job, so I have no doubt he can pull this off.

 

I liked Hitchhikers Guide so I'm pretty much ok with this casting. Should be interesting to see.

 

So far one of the few good decisions.

Mos Def is a good actor, so its more of a loss than a gain. But whatever.

I'm not ignorant, nor a troll. I have seen the man once on TV, and that was enough.

Somehow he ended up on the same show as Christopher Hitchens and Salman Rushdie and made a complete fool of himself. It was painful to watch.

 

Well as someone who has seen much of his work, I can tell you without that he is a very talented actor.

You don't have to take my word for it but I don't think you should judge of one random performance of his you saw one day while watching tv.

 

If you would watch the episode (it was Bill Maher's show), or even the clips (you can find them on youtube easily enough, one has over half a million views), you might understand my serious doubts about him playing a scientific genius.

But perhaps he really is a masterful actor, I admit I have never seen him in anything.

 

He wasn't even acting on that.

He was.... HIMSELF.

That was a freaking interview for crying out loud.

Though if he isn't playing Baxter Stockman, then I have no idea why we're having this conversation.

 

I did watch it. and no, I don't.

You can't judge someone's acting talent based how they are in real life.

 

Alright, I'll admit, I'm curious now. I'll see what he's been in and watch something.

 

I suggest Be Kind Rewind and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

 

At least they got Baxter's ethnicity right. Unless William as Shredder is a bait and switch.

 

No....Mos Def isn't just any 'rapper turned actor'. He's probably one of the shinning example on how to do that transition right. He's a gifted artist.
