No....Mos Def isn't just any 'rapper turned actor'. He's probably one of the shinning example on how to do that transition right. He's a gifted artist.

I wouldn't even call Mos Def a rapper turned actor since he has been doing both since he was a teenager. He got his first professional acting role in a tv movie when he was fourteen and got signed as a rapper when he was sixteen and has been doing both ever since.
