This was a point raised in another thread about which is the more eagerly awaited villain appearence in the next 2 years
I put it in this section to not only get the fanbase views but the regular movie fans views

So which character are you most looking forward to seeing on the bigscreen ?

DC sucks but Joker is better than Venom.
Venom is like a 13 year old boy made him up:down.
Plus there is no way they'll pull him off effectively in the movie whereas you just know Joker will be amazing.

Ledger will be following Nicholson. Grace is setting the standard.

Venom for me.

Venom, hands down, for me anyway. Even more so if Heath Ledger is brought in to play Joker.

Whereas an Octopus man and a green goblin with purple outfitting are the height of sophistication?

As much as I'm looking forward to Spider-Man 3...

I'm looking forward more for The Dark Knight and its Joker. Both will be excellent movies I think, but The Dark Knight is The Dark Knight like Joker's Joker.

A CGI rendered creature or a murdering psychopath who happens to be the most famous villain of all-time? I'd choose the latter any day. The Joker.

Also remember...there would be no Green Goblin for Spidey had there been no Joker for Batman.

How do you work that out ?

This is a hard a chioce. I really want to see Nolans Joker, but I've never seen Venom on screen; but I like Joker better then Venom as character.

Edge: Joker

Venom.

Everybody knows how much I love Bale, Nolan and the entire crew, and I am extremely confident that the Joker that we get in TDK will be unbelievable.

BUT...as a child of the 90s, I've always LOVED Venom. That, and the fact that a) I'm a bigger Spidey fan than I am Batman, and b) Venom has NEVER been in a movie before, whereas the Joker has, make me more anticipated for Venom.

Venom. I mean The Joker is cool and everything but he has already been portaryed. Venom is like a brand new sheet of paper, you don't know whats gonna happen, only that it is.

The Joker. He's been missing on screen for more than 17 years. And now, when 2008 comes, he'll be seen again under the helm of someone who understands where the character is coming from. Joker has been around for years, and years. He's one of the most iconic villains today. And I (including many others I'm sure) am looking forward to Nolan's rendition of the character. Against Bale's Batman. Just imagining what we'll be seeing a year from now, makes the wait worth a whole lot more.

Ledger's Joker is going to be completely distant from Nicholson's. For one, he won't have the exact same amount of screentime like in B89. And two, he'll be much, much darker, to set the tone of the films direction.

If you knew anything about what Nolan is going to make, you would change your mind about Ledger.

I was wondering that same thing. How did you come to that conclusion.

Well, it's fairly obvious. Following the success of the Joker being Batman's arch-nemesis, Stan Lee created the Green Goblin for Spider-man, who certainly has his similarities to the Joker.

Not only do they share the same color scheme and affinity of laughing/smiling, but they each pose much greater threats to their respective heroes than the other rogues/villains. The Joker and the Green Goblin have always been more personal than the other villains out there, and that's what makes them both so great.

Don't get me wrong. Both villains certainly have their differences. However, you can see that Lee was inspired by the Joker when he created the Goblin.

Not bad, I think you are right.

Lee also made DB basing on DP and Jameson as negative side of White.

Plus, Spidey has Superman's colors.

Stan Lee would have created Goblin without Joker,he is based more on mythos than on someone else's design and all major characters in this type of fiction have a personal nemesis that is their greatest rival
