Most Cinematic Sequence

In Shawshank Redemption, when Andy finally crawls through the sewage pipes and is free.
In the Godfather, when the door closes and Kay finally realizes that Michaels has taken over as Don.
Nice selection! I especially dig the Shawshank Redemption scene you mentioned, it was very emotional and liberating, you could share Andy's feelings of relief there! And the second is classic of course!

The Autobots Decending on Earth in TF, fk that scene and music still give me shivers and I've seen that film ten times already.

In Boondock Saints, when Willem Dafoe is dancing around the crime scene with his walkman. Great introduction to the character.

real good stuff peeps!! thank you for inputs! each film a winner! another, the davinci code when hanks visually paints newton's statue in front of him!

- In The Mist, at the end where the huge creature is walking amongst the streets. Actually, the whole apocalyptic atmosphere was beautiful.

- The Pale Man's scene in Pan's Labyrinth.

the most cinematic sequences....in cinema?

The Return of the King: Lighting the beacons--the flyover of the mountains combined with an incredible score.

Casablanca: Rick Blaine sitting by himself drinking and smoking in the dark after running into Ilsa.

The Ten Commandments (Charlton Heston version): The giving of the Ten Commandments and the scene with Moses' outstretched arms and the parting of the Red Sea.

Raiders of the Lost Ark: Pretty much every scene (it's my favorite movie of all time).

Lost: OK, so this is technically a TV show, but I love the scene where you see the bamboo reeds going up into the sunlight through Jack's eyes as he's coming to in the pilot episode.

Can't Buy Me Love: Call me a softie, but I love where Ronald Miller and Cindy Mancini are riding off into the sunset on his lawnmower.

Jason and the Argonauts (the original): The fight scene with the skeletons--most impressive for its time.

THe Autobots meeting in the alley and transforming in a circle. It's amazing.

superman series, including returns:
the right music and bit at the end, where supes flies into space and smiles at the camera. glorious.

Blade Runner tears in the rain scene, great image, music, lines, the rain falling, and setting the dove free....one of the most emotional scenes without it trying to be

thats is one of my favourites scenes, another one for me would be the beach landing in Saving Private Ryan it was visually stunning and so well done.
:woot: :woot:

"The Lord of the Rings" Trilogy: Too many to name, but a few of my faves are the prologue, Bilbo's birthday party, Gandalf's fight with Saruman, Gollum's entrance in "The Two Towers", the fortress of Minas Tirith, the battle for Helm's Deep, and of course Mount Doom. Aragorn's coronation was great, too.

I think this is still the most beautiful movies made, it all looks fantastic.

This is the Hype, and only one mentioned any scene from any of the Batman films?

there were some mentions! like the bat standing atop a building i recognize like a gargoyle watching the city! mmmmm.

"Look how it eats."

The sequence to springs to mind for me with ROTK is when Gandalf rode out to face the wraiths and that beam of light was coming from his staff.-good times.

Theres the entire opening sequence in X2

Theres this shot I love in The Phantom Menace during the pod race where the camera is behind Anakins pod and he turns his head back.Happens real quick so dont blink or you'll miss it.

You gotta love all of Spike Lees double dolly shots

The shot in The Fountain when hes silhouetted against space doing some tai chi

THIS IS THE WINNER! lol

The BMX sequence at the end of E.T. The Extra Terrastrial

Pure movie magic:woot:

Folks were wistlin in the theatres during this Sequence

Just from the top off my head:

The 6-minute long take of a refugee ghetto being ripped apart by a gun battle. While Clive Owen makes his way into a building to save the only pregnant woman on earth in Children of Men. Cinematic perfection and the biggest, most impressive technical achievement of this decade.

And the final showdown between Frank and Harmonica in Once Upon A Time in the West. Especially the flashback. Probably the best crane-shot ever.

Also a short scene from Scorsese's The Aviator when Hughes just broke up with Katherine Hepburn. He makes a huge fire in his living room and burns all his clothes. Haunting, booming music, and intense imagery.

And no one has mentioned this breathtaking scene from Atonement. For shame.

Watched Tarzan again last night, and whilst it isn't the most cinematic sequence I've seen, Clayton's death was so dramatic. Failed to notice the shadow of Clayton's dead hung body on the trees. I love that film, it's one of the most intense Disney ones.

As a whole I really disliked Matrix Revolutions, I thought it was nothing but a CG filler but the finale I loved...one of my favorite scenes ever.

Assassination in the rain, in Road To Perdition. From the music, to the camera shots, to the lighting...perfection.

And then, the incredible Resteraunt Assassination in The Godfather Part I. Just brilliance on film.
