Okay, let's clarify our terms here. When you say Hank was slapping Jan around, exactly what do you mean? If you mean he hit her one time, then yes, you are right. If I used the term "slapping around", I would mean that he had done it several times; and I believe most people use the term in that way. So how do you mean it?

I know that he slapped her once in the aforementioned issue. I bought it off the rack as a teenager when it came out; hence, my memory's recollection of said event.

However, the way they still talk about it over 20 years later, you'd think Hank was a proverbial wife-beater. So while I'm not really on top of current Avengers history (the Busiek revamp to DisAssembled), it feels like he did it more than once "off-panel"... which I know, is merely an assumption of mine, and not one that I would really stand behind... because as I said, it feels like he did it because of how writers still go on and on and on and on and on about it... move along folks, nothing new here.

Truth be told, while I appreciate reminders of continuity, it's a part of Hank & Jan's past that you'd think they could have moved on with, considering their history even after the fact.

I'm babbling now... so I'll stop.

Starfox has only the pleasure zap to my knowledge. It functions at a low level all the time but he can crank up the power if he chooses. Combine that with enhanced physical ability overall and few women would be disappointed. I doubt if they would be even without the pleasure zap considering that he has had centuries of experiance.

Unless she would just steal her own energy somehow, there's always the option of self-pleasure. Well, she could even wear gloves for that...and maybe not even have to use her hands if you know what I mean. Anyway, when I read those issues of X-Statix where Professor X made Venus a special suit I wondered why he couldn't make Rogue something similar. I know the situations aren't the same but the problem is pretty much.

The way Dan Slott has written him, Eros now seems able to make people fall in love with him, or with other people (Jen Walters & John Jameson). This has me definitely puzzled.

And, yes, he seems to have devoted a good part of his very long life to...pleasure; so I think he would be a very satisfying partner.

Now this is the kind of thing that drives me up a wall. Hank & Jan have been written as if they had moved beyond that bad time. Then a new writer comes on the book and has characters start throwing around the "wife-beater" phrase. To me it just seems like a cheap and easy way to break up Hank & Jan, or bring some dissension into the group (because that makes them sooooo much more realistic [sarcasm]).

Hmmm, I'd better stop now, because I'm starting to have violent fantasies about certain Avengers writers.
