That is understandable. My dog was run over and when we took him to the animal hospital i saw the poor thing with tubes coming in and out every which way, i was thirteen at the time and that caused me to puke .
He died later that evening , its one of my worst memories.
It's hard to pinpoint what was most shocking about my time in Iraq but there is one thing that really stands out that caught me completely off guard.
It was late at night and my squad were pulling over cars at an intersection ; It was a random checkpoint . A vehicle pulled up with a young couple asking if we could take their baby because it was sick and needed medical attention . My squad leader said we couldn't anything and they would have to go to an iraq medical center. I saw an iraqi ambulance pulling through(lights off) and flagged them down . When they pulled over a side door opened and in it revealed two medics and a girl with her throat
slashed on the gurney . The girl was clearly deceased but she was also a girl in our area who would come by at least twice a week and I would give her food . She had to be the nicest one because she was never greedy about while the other kids fought but she did try to keep them in check. She would disperse it and the kids would share. I couldn't believe she was murdered so brutally .
