It was for the Spider-Man 3 teaser and the Spider-Man 3 teaser, alone.

all that for a teaser? I thought it was for Superman. I love Spider-Man but even I'm not that obsessed about it. lol

It was soooooooo crazy last night

Anyone catch how many were on yesterday?

The Spidey forums caused waaaayyy more slowdowns over the course of the franchise than TDK ever has.

I don't remember Spidey causing slowdowns. The first movie came out in 2002. SHH back then wasn't what it is today. In `04 we had more people but not enough to shut down this place. And this time last year we had just gotten new servers.

But maybe you're right and I just don't remember.

SM1 was fine, because this board was practically just for SM. But for the 2 sequels, I definitely remember some slowdown because of the trailer premieres. For the third film alone, every time there was a hint at view of Venom or whatnot, these boards would be hell to get on.

Well...you have to remember the servers were messed up back then. They fixed it right before the movie came out. As for Spidey 2...I don't recall much problem.

Well, look at the reaction to anything from TDK (trailer, poster, viral, etc.) Those have been some of the biggest days of the year on the forum.

People don't necessarily flock to the forum the day a film comes out; they're too busy seeing the movie. But when a trailer drops, that's when you're going to see the servers take a beatdown in an e-alley.

I remember the record day (6/27/06), mainly because I remember Sony brilliantly stealing any thunder SR had by dropping the first footage from 07's most anticipated flick, complete with a big ass banner in Times Square.

Gold. :funny:

Don't hate.

At least Superman's movie didn't suck.

Yes - I went there.

As hated as Spidey 3 is it was 2007's highest grossing movie. I can't say the same for Superman III & IV and Batman & Robin.

No one could of predicted what would go down with Spiderman 3. At least with those other movies there was some indication.

were there any early reviews that would have warned us? I can't remember. Anyway, I still liked the movie.

The reviews were average, in general, but they were still better than Shrek The Third and Pirates 3. It was a major stepdown from the first two films, but I'll never forget the hype. The movie on the other hand.....

The hype was good. Sure the movie was a bit of a letdown and my favorite will always be Spider-Man 2, but the hype was fun. I just didn't get all the analyzing of the trailers, tv spots, and posters. At least it wasn't anything like this TDK viral crap. That got old real quick. Can't wait for it to be over.

The reviews never really touched on the problems i had with spiderman 3. The constant excuse for the films out there was "too many villians" . I dont think that was really the problem . There are many low and high points of the film . The action was incredible but some of the plot and emotion weren't carried out well.

I think i watched the spiderman 3 trailer a million times. i actually avoided many spoilers to enjoy the film more .

Kirsten Dunst killed the whole film for me. Every time she got on screen, the movie ground to a halt. And that stupid dance sequence... just stupid summer movie incompetence. And they wasted Jameson...
... I'm going to shut up now.

It's 12:30am where I am and I'm groggy. I could have sworn I read that Kirsten Dunst was killed. lol I was like :wow:

Sorry about that... didn't mean to confuse you.
