The person who said Equilibrium was nowhere near as good as the Matrix, you should know it was not meant to be. In fact, it was meant to be a Dystopia story in the vein of "1984", "Fahrenheit 451," "Brave New World," and the Russian Masterpiece "WE." It pulled off and excellently, combining elements from all these stories and adding the threat of the death of emotions to what a government or society could do if we let it. He then put a nice action gloss on the outside of the deeper meaning to try and get the mainstream audience to see it, and to give it a happier ending.
Eragon looks like a movie that is being Over hyped because it may not be that great, but wait and see it for yourself, it maybe quite good.
