I finally saw it today, old news I know, but anyway, wow, this movie is really lacking.

I've heard the fans of the books were not happy.

There were things that looked like they were lifted from Starwars and Lord of the Rings.

I think the wizard or Shade was the only thing I liked. It just felt like it need more to it, more detail, and it felt rushed.

John Malkovitch seemed like a wasted character, although I liked what he did do.

It does feel like a big set up for a sequel but I don't think I really care. And I love Fantasy but this is a poor mans Harry Potter.

Out of four stars I give it 1.

Even though I love the movies Lord of the Rings, DragonHeart and Legend, I gave been put off from seeing Eragon by

a. Word of mouth
b. Trailers that make it look incredibly generic
c. The fact that's it's written by a teenager

i guess reading the books first might have killed the movie for me. there was so much wrong i couldn't stand to sit through it. it was like watching catwoman. they just used the title to get viewers, and chnage everything else. to make it simple i hated the movie.

i didn't make it to the end it was so bland. i was on an airplane too...

My friend said about 10% of what was in the movie...was by the book...

the book was bad enough. to movie managed to make it worse.

The movie was awful, the lead villains name says everything. Galbatrox???

Why is this in Misc Comic movies?
I enjoyed the books for what they were but I gotta say the movie was just awful.

I hate movies that feel like they're in a rush and don't take time to let the characters and the story breathe. I remember 'The Time Machine' remake was like that (which also had Jeremy Irons. Hmmm....)

Anyway, I loved reading the book and imagining how a lot of scenes would be done in the movie. But the movie left out most of the good parts and screwed up the others.

For me, the movie lost me when Saphira shoots up to full size, rather than maturing over several months like she does in the book. (It's called a montage people; use it.)

I actually saw the movie expecting it to be bad, so I took notes to help me with my own movie. I used to be kind of envious of the author because he's only two months younger than me, and I don't have a book or a movie out yet. But now I'm feeling better about taking my time.

yep, Irons is really working to taint his image with the fanboy crowds. don't forget: he was in Dungeons & Dragons too.

...a teenager who graduated high school at the age of 15 and decided - to pass the time until college - to become a novelist.

It's not like he's ***** from Growing Pains.

wow, my thoughts have been confirmed, i didn't even read the book and I knew the movie was rushed, but I will say the last seen where they show that uber-looking dragon was pretty cool

he still managed to prove Kev's theory. his crappy book was just further evidence that teenagers, even precocious ones, have a lot of maturing to do before they can write a readable book.

I quite enjoyed the book, and felt the movie could have been quite good if done right, but no, Fox ****ed it up again.

The movie had potential if it was put in the right hands, but it was handled as a quick cash grab by the studio. It felt more like a direct to DVD movie rather than a real big screen movie.

I kept expecting the main character to whine about needing to go to Tosche Station to pick up some power converters.

i've seen em now i get the joke
