Transformers Movie Review: Transformers

Saw it over the weekend. Was hyped for it but sadly it turned out to be a letdown. If you're looking for a robots fighting (briefly), things exploding/getting blown up and just overall chaos then this should satisfy your appetite.

I wrote an entire rant about it (here). Overall, it just dissappointed me. Would love to hear what both fans and non-fans have to say.

I thought it was amazing. It satisfied me in almost every way and reminded me of why I thought TF were so cool back in the day. Loved it. My only real complaint is the climax, it felt rushed. In particular the final battle between OP and Megatron. I expected much more from that fight, it should have been epic and been the 'main event' of the film. How anything can be rushed in a 2.5 hour movie is beyond me, but that's the sense I got towards the end. Also, the female hacker thing, while ending up funny thanks solely to what's his face's contribution to that subplot, I could have done without, as well.

Other than that, though, I walked out of the theater tonight very, very happy. The movie far exceeded my expectations and had me on the edge of my seat. I even felt a lot of strong emotions, which is something I can say I've never felt in a Michael Bay film at all, let alone to that level. Unless adrenaline counts as an emotion.

I give it a 10. It wasn't absolutely perfect, but nothing is. It was close, however. Best new film I've seen in quite some time and I am hyped to the max for a sequel! t:

I could have done w/ out all the Michael Bay staples

-the obligatory camera swirl around a principal,when nothing happens.

-Flares and / or colored smoke

-Slowed action

The awkward love scene, what-was he fenst to beat it up on top of BB??

I've seen both and that's why I asked. 300 is much better, IMO.

300 and Apocalypto are two completely different movies that really are only comparable by the fact they are dramatic views of the past.

I saw transformers this weekend. This is the first time I give an 8 to a movie when I think it sucked! I ll explain: when I said 8 , there is 6 points for the special effect and 2 for the story.

What I mean is my thanks goes for the special fx team and NOT Michael Bay!


Michael Bay annoys me with his 1 hour of romance with the radio changing from left to right . The guy is squeezing the action of the movie until the end. The thing is the Fx was so outstanding I forgot Michael Bay s mistakes!

Although one thing I have to mention is I didn t like the way they did the transformation it was to organic and not mechanical as they try to make us believe! . And that was not Megatron out there that was a monster!

But other than that is was fun to see after so many years the transformers on the big screen!Cant wait to see a sequels with a better script!

I Forget to say that I understand why they couldn do megatron as in the anime since it was pure fantasy but at least I was hoping he could be like galvatron a big gun!

overall i thought it was an awesome movie.....especially the dialogue's in between, i thought it was hilarous.....but i do have to say the fight at the end was good but it could have been better....but before i leave i do have one question for whoever can answer this for me.....im a fan of transformers...more when i was young....but correct me if im wrong, cause i didnt watch transformers on a regular basis....but i thought ops and mega were about the same in strength... in the movie mega was whipping his ass all over the place...what's up with that?

Absolutely without a doubt one of the BEST movies I've ever seen in a long while. Hardcore fans are all ''But they didn't have this, And all they had were soldiers..blah blah blah". They don't realize that they have to cater to ALL ages. A child who's 15 won't know JACK about TRANSFORMERS (That crappy Anime doesn't count). They had to create a plot line in which they would understand, and could really see this as 'real'. I LOVED the storyline, how they made the introduction, the characters, the back plot. Sam is an AWESOME character! Who care's if he's not Spike. It wouldn't make any difference, I personally think he's MUCH better than Spike. The Hackers made sense with the plot line, I still don't know why people are getting so worked up about it. They're never pleased *rolls eyes*. I would understand it if the movie sucked, but it ROCKED. I loved the ending, it makes me so eager to watch the next one!

Me too I stop watching transformers a long time ago but I remember that Optimus was Always stronger than Megatron back then. But U know...it s Hollywood! they do what ever they want They changed Megatron for no reason! They could have give him the same power as Galvatron a big gun but no they decided he ll be a Ship!
