movie villans adapation for the big screen

Why do movies find the need to constantly change the apprearance of the main villian from their comic book version? I was just watching Ghost Rider and thought of that. Ghost Rider, FF4, Spider-man, Iron-man, Batman, Superman, daredevil, Hulk all look almost exact to what we have known and loved from the comics. So why change the villians.

Green Goblin--nothing like the comics,(in fact that suit would have been perfect for Vulture)
New Goblin--no, don't think so
Blackheart-no
Doom-somewhat
Galactus--I think we all know how that turned out
Bullseye-not even close
Deathstrike-no
pyro-no
Sabretooth-no
toad-nope
mystque-kind of
jugger-decent
absorbing man-horrible
Kingpin-actually pretty good(unless King kong Bundy was available)
Scarecrow-never wore a suit--but decent
Ra-not English but ok
Doc-Ock-nothig like comics but good
Venom-pretty good considering
Sand-man-Dead on

I know people will answer--oh well they have to make it believable and the suits have to be accessable, not good enough cause that agruement isn't being used for the superheroes

Are you talking about looks or personality? because in the looks department he looks like Doc Ock I mean he had the tentacles it's not like they majorly changed those ya know?

Because movie villains are supposed to evoke negative feelings, and most villains in comics have kept the same design for 40+ years, and those designs are supposed to invoke positive feelings.

Comics get a by because all their customers are inherently fans. So even though Green Goblin should make us point and laugh, we don't because to US He's THE GREEN GOBLIN! There are some points in which a faithful translation has a different effect than the original.
