I hate when people call movies based on books remakes.

adaptions....
That's what it is, but I've known people that hear of a movie being based on a book and they immediately call it a remake for some reason.

morons....

Christ, why didn't you include some of the classics on this?

Double Indemnity
The Big Sleep
Murder, My Sweet
Maltese Falcon
Asphalt Jungle
Treasure of the Sierra Madre
etc.

Do none of you read actual books or watch anything made before 1970?:cmad:

My favorites where I've read the book and seen the movie- Psycho, The Godfather, Lord of the Rings, Akira, Blade Runner, The Crow, A Clockwork Orange

Harry Potter is my fave.
Lord of the Rings is a close second but I didn't feel right voting for them when I have only seen the movie, I haven't read the books, YET.

Psycho was a book?
Yup. Written by Robert Bloch and came out in 1959.

I also forgot to mention Rosemary's Baby and Fight Club to my previous post.

Shrek was a book?

Anyway, Lord of the Rings.

I highly doubt for the most part that people that make movies based on books actually read the books. They probably just see a cover that looks cool & then reads the back of the cover & maybe the front inside panel for more information on the story & go wow this story idea would make a great movie. Then they make a movie based on the story they read on the back of the book without actually reading it

Wtf????

Where Is Silence Of The Lambs

I haven't read any of the books above but based upon the word of people I know I would have to say the Lord of the Rings trilogy followed by Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan series. I say Lord of the Rings because of the type of story and the fact being that it was 'the grandfather' of the entire D & D movement.

One book I think may be the worst is A Clockwork Orange. I am a huge fan of the movie, I just think that the movie was confusing enough and a book may be to difficult to get through.

To Kill A Mockingbord.
I don't think there was anything changed/cut out from the book at all.

The stuff with Scout's aunt was cut.

I want Catcher in the Rye. I know that book is a sacred cow to a lot of people, but I'd like to see it done.

I thought the author was the one who's kept the book from being adapted into a film.
