Movies everyone thinks is funny but you don't

Just like the title says. Like Gene Siskel once said, the two things you cannot fake are an orgasm and a laugh.

Bad Santa-- I just cannot look at Billy Bob without thinking, "that effer banged Angelina" and I cannot suspend my disbelief enough to by him as a drunk mall Santa. It was much funnier to see Santa as a drunk degenerate when he was Dan Aykroyd in Trading Places.

Old School-- I don't find Wil Ferrell funny in the least. He tries way to hard to be funny and just falls flat. I don't remember even chuckling once.

Caddyshack --Bill Murray is amusing in it, but Chevy Chase is completely unfunny. It hasn't aged well, and I think that the critics were right when they blasted it when it came out. Classic it is not. For Bill Murry at his best, I prefer Groundhog Day, which is probably my favorite comedy ever.

You need to be punished for this, I don't know how.
I'll do some thinking about that later tonight.

Wedding Crashers-- Owen Wilson is likable enough. The movie was just way too formulaic and predictable for me to find it even remotely funny. 40 Year Old Virgin basically tells the same story but was much funnier.

Any Adam Sandler movie sans Happy Gilmore --I agree with Ebert when he pegged Sandler as a good supporting actor but not a leading man. His shtick is tiresome, with Click being the worst movie experience I had to endure with my children this year. God that movie was garbage.

Other movies I think are funny are Office Space, Being John Malkovich, This Is Spinal Tap, and There's Something About Mary.

Oh, add Borat to that List, and Jack Ass.

I hated Little Miss Sunshine--what a piece of crap filmmaking.

I said movies, not people.

Basically, the most of movies of those people and a few others more. Examples: the gold rush,a night at the opera, the general, young frankenstein, the party, duck soup, young sherlock holmes, stripes, ghostbusters, airplane, top secret, nutty professor( jerry lewis version) etc.

In the funny band i forget people like the good days of the zucker and abrahams, steve martin, john belushy, danny kaye, jerry lewis, etc.

In the unnfunny band: adam sandler, rob shnaider, steve carrell, etc.

I won't attack you for your point of view

Yeah, I like Snadler's and Stiller's movies, but it doesn't mean Jim Carrey isn't my favorite #1 :D

Any Three Stooges

Anything with Jackie Gleason

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, I just like that the wizard is named Tim, that's about it.

Doctor Strangelove. Cool sentiment, funny? Not for a second.

The Blues Brothers

A Fish Called Wanda, or really any comedy with that dude in it...can't remember his name, hasn't been in a movie for quite some time.

Jim Carrey's mugging does not make me laugh.

Anything with Martin Lawrence, Danny DeVito, Arnold Shwarzenegger, or Tim Allen (except for a few scenes in Galaxy Quest)

Any Kevin Smith movie. They're embarrassingly bad. I especially loathe his use of music to italicize "comedic" scenes.

I agree Cinemaman. Here's more fuel for the fire.

unfunny films -*the wedding singer*
*Meet the Parents*
*Zoolander*
*The Animal*
*Anger management*
& plenty more that escape me right now (thankfully)

it's kind of funny that most people seem to be listing the same movies.

most of the 'frat pack' films are overrated, with the possible exception of Anchorman and the 40-year old Virgin.

pretty much anything starring Eddie Murphy post-Beverly Hills Cop.

oh, and Howard the Duck. wait, no one found that funny.

Jack Burton: You know what ol' Jack Burton says at a time like this?

Thunder: Who?

Jack Burton: Jack Burton... ME!

That's one of the most perfect movies ever made.
And not just the overtly funny stuff.

I love the weird little things like when he goes:

"What is that stuff?"
"Black Blood of the Earth."
"You mean OIL?"
"NO! BLACK BLOOD OF THE EARTH!"

or of course the great, "This really pisses me off to no end."
:D
I must go home and watch it again.

And Gracie LAW?!?
Wh00!

You sir have gained an enemy for life (I´ll still agree on The Three Stooges, Carrey, Schwarzenegger and Lawrence, though...)

These are all classics. Some of the others are not conventional comedies, but yeah they are funny none the less.

A lot of bad comedies I just make it a point to miss. But of the ones that I didn't care for...
American Pie movies...OK..amusing but why so much attention? They were much funnier when they were called Porky's.
Old School...Same story. I just didn't find myself laughing that much.
40 Year Old Virgin....same again
Clerks...Though not a huge following, it has a very devout one...which I'm not part of. But Dogma was a work of genius.
Galaxy Quest..I guess my buddy just found it so funny and I did not.

Wil, I know you're respected poster and all, and I respect everyone's oppinions, but you seriously need to be hung from a pole by your wang.

Talladega nights- not bad but not as hilarious as people make it out to be.
Clerks- only one scene made me laugh
American Pie movies- not funny. people thought it was so clever but the majority of the jokes were "hey i saw her boobs awesome!!!!!!"

- Old School.
- Talladega Nights.

Not. Funny. At. All.

THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT MARY - It has some funny bits but it's not rip-roaring funny.

ANCHORMAN - amusing but not funny

-Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby (The only part I find funny is the last 15 minutes and the Tom Cruise part)

-Napolean Dynamite

-Date Movie (Everybody in my classes thinks its hilarious but the only part that made me laugh is the Mr & Mrs Smith part)
