Movies That Were Good Until...

I Am Legend: When Anna and her mute son showed up.

I Am Legend's alternate ending pissed me of so terribly badly.

The whole movie was a FAIL to me if you've ever read the book.

Man... I guess I'm in the minority in that I loved Sunshine from start to finish.

i'm with you there. i loved Sunshine the whole way through.

Me too.

Okay, back to the thread:

1. Dusk Til Dawn. The movie was exciting and fantastic until the vampires appear.
2. X1. When they get to the Statue of Liberty and on.
3. Batman Returns: Killer penguins with explosives, really Burton...really?

More to come...

That was awesome and you know it.

Liberty island was great in X1. It was really one of the only times in the franchise that they all worked together as a team. Love that movie.

Indiana Jones: Temple of the Crystal Skull. The Aliens.

It was the monkeys for me.

It's too bad too, you take out the monkey scene and change the end so it's ambiguous, I think it would have been fine. (Just have the temple start collapsing, and never reveal if the "aliens" were real, or the place just fell apart.)

This is a thread about movies that were good until certain scenes in the film that killed it for you.

My list:

Jason X: Jason had I guess 'de-thawed' and started his killing spree, he killed the girl with some freeze thing and smashed her face in and how FAKE the prop head looked. That or the scene with the victims tricking him in the virtual camp setting.

That movie was good until.... I saw it on the shelf at blockbuster and knew it existed.

They ditched the idea of a portal sucking them in but did the space ship thing. I would of went with the portal instead. And the monkey scene was kinda bad the first time but watching it again, it's not that bad. It wasn't needed, would of been cooler if Mutt swung out of nowhere and hit Spalko in the jeep.

Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - As soon as coughing General Grievous appeared on the screen.

JP2: Introducing the black girl as his son,was like WTF.
Don't you mean daughter?

Oh well and what about the fact that she mentions her gymnastics class and later on in the movie she just so happens to use her acrobatics, so lame.

Foreshadowing is lame. I mostly prefer things to just pop up out of nowhere.

True, but forshadowing is one of the rules of types of writing. As is a metaphor or personification or a symbol, it's all in the same area. Though it's great to see someone break it.

I liked "Revenge of the Fallen" up until Optimus took a nap for the rest of the movie.

ZA: Zombies Anonymous was great until the very tacked on ending action scenes. there is no way that was the original ending to the film.

The fact that she mentioned gymnastics for no reason... makes it look like they did one scene before the other. Or someone read through the script and went, "Wait. How the **** does she pull off that thing with kicking the raptor out the window?"

Foreshadowing is good but for an already established character, not just bring in a new character and say he/she is a computer whiz because you know in the middle of the movie his/hers computer skills will be needed, now that is lazy writing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

That's when the movie got even more awesome than it already was to begin with.
I have to agree with Weapon. I was really digging that movie until the vampire show up. Soon as they did, to me it just became really really boring.

But that's when Savini started shooting people with a penis gun...

Nothin' boring 'bout that!
