So I'm watching "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" the other day and something dawns on me. This has got to be the definitive "I want the bad guy to win" movie. Screw Kevin Costner. He's nothing like Robin Hood with his American accent in the middle of Sherwood Forest. I'm sick of putting up with his crap. Alan Rickman, on the other hand, is so much more awesome than Costner in this flick that it's making me root for him. The Sheriff of Nottingham? The dude should have been called "The Badass of Nottingham".

To a lesser extent, there's also Magneto in the "X-Men" movies. He was given some of the best lines in X2, and he was given the best stuff to do in "The Last Stand", like moving the Golden Gate bridge and helping Mystique escape. While I wasn't really rooting for him to win in any of them, it's hard not to like him just as much as the heroes, especially in X2.

Obligatory:

The Big 4 Movie Slashers.

Fight Club.

... more as i think of 'em.

The Jackal.

Hoping for Bruce Willis to chop off Richard Geres head.

Oh this is SUCH an EASY question...

I root for the bad guy in ANY cheesy scary slasher movie...

Nightmare on Elm Streets
Friday the 13ths
Halloweens
Texas Chainsaw Massacres

any scary movie with one of the "iconic" villains (Freddy, Jason, Michael, Leatherface...)... I always root for them... I want them to kill EVERYONE and leave not ONE CHARACTER ALIVE. Usually, it's because the characters are soooo bland or cliched (typical drunken, stoner, sex-crazed teens)... so I hope every one of them dies. I would LOVE it if for once they made a slasher film where you were actually SUPPOSED to root for Jason, Freddy, Michael, etc.... cause the teen characters are so stupid and lame. Like the writer/director makes the characters even more idiotic and overblown to the point that Jason is rolling his eyes at them and making the audience be like "yeah get em' Jason get em'", and actually make Jason, Freddy, etc. the PROTAGONIST, not the ANTAGONIST, of the movie. Sick idea, but if comical it would work.

Surprised no one has mentioned Payback.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. I was rooting for Jones to take care of that pissant Cutler Beckett. He didn't get Beckett, but he took good care of Mercer.

I definitely agree and add The Predator to your list. Such a bad-ass character!

Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within

Not so much for the fact that the "bad guy" was well written, so much as that he was actually pretty logical in his plans, and the good guys came off as a bunch of idiots. The "villain" wanted to shoot the aliens with a giant bad ass gun, and his arguments for why that was a good idea and the heroes' plan wasn't seemed perfectly valid for me. The only reason his plan didn't work was because of bad writing.

I root for green goblion in spiderr-man1
i also wanted doc ock to win in spider-man 2
i also rooted for joker in the dark night. hes a maniac .

Johnny Depp's character in Secret Window and from the looks of it his character in Public Enemies.

Hellboy 2: The Golden Army:

The Prince was just trying to save his people, a noble task.

Besides the ones mentioned already, the villain group in The Marine--the main character became so robotic after the first act, and they were kinda funny.

Also, to talk about actual good movies, Dracula in Bram Stoker's Dracula. He's somewhat different, in that he doesn't have a grand plan like he does in the book, and Harker is such a dullard and Van Helsing is a bit of a nut, that ole' Drac can't help but look better in comparison.
