What are some good movies with actors usually known as good guys playing bad guys?

Danny De Vito in Batman Returns.

Christopher Loyd in Roger Rabbit.

Angelina Jolie in Beowulf.

Also, before Collateral, Cruise played Lestat, not really a good guy, in "Interview with a vampire."

That's a good one.

Yul Brynner in "Westworld."

Patrick Stewart in "Conspiracy Theory."

And last but not least : :2face:

Paul Newman, Tom Hanks and Jude Law in "Road to Perdition." (Triple Threat. I guess Sam Mendes really like to go against expectations.)

Michael Douglas in "A Perfect Murder."

Dustin Hofman in "Hook."

Morgan Freeman in "Wanted."

Philippe Seymour Hofman in "MI3".

Jim Broadbent in "Hot Fuzz."

Tim Robbins in "Arlington Road."

Helena Bonham Carter and Imelda Staunton in Harry Potter.

I could go all day:woot:.

David Soul in "Magnum Force."

Ryan Reynolds and Liev Schreiber in "Wolverine."

Cruise was fantastic as Vincent in Collateral. For the first time i didn't see Tom Cruise. I saw a cold blooded bastard with the instincts of a wolf.

To go the other route, actors best known for playing badguys playing goodguys:

Michael Ironside in Starship Troopers.

Paul Newman, Tom Hanks and Jude Law in "Road to Perdition." (Triple Threat. I guess Sam Mendes really like to go against expectations.)
Michael Douglas in "A Perfect Murder."

Dustin Hofman in "Hook."

And don't forget Daniel Craig. He was the biggest SOB of them all in that movie.

That description could also fit Cruise's character in 'Magnolia'.

Jack Black in 'King Kong'

Robert Downey Jr - In Dreams. Movie wasn't very good, but he was pretty creepy.

Wasn't Christian Bale the villain in the Shaft movie?

Weird.

Henry Fonda in Once Upon a Time in the West
Anthony Perkins in Psycho

Of course:

My other example: Elijah Wood in Sin City:

(I forgot if Red Eye was before or after BB. But he's mostly known for playing good guys.)

Mel Gibson in Payback.

A bad guy, but sort of a good guy because you're rooting for the bad guy?

Once Upon a Time in the West - Henry Fonda

Apparently when the trailer was show back in the late 60's for this movie, people were so shocked to see Fonda the villian...and let me just say what a freaking amazing villian he played

Meh.

He was much, much better in Magnolia.

Hell, I think think he was better in Tropic Thunder than in Collateral. :o

I think it's debatable to say Cillian Murphy is mostly known for playing good guys...I think other than 28 Days Later, most people know him as that creepy guy from Batman Begins and Red Eye. Most people I know think he's pretty creepy.
