Talk all you want about MTV's Spiderman here what did you think of it.
Im only on the 4th episode and i think its pretty good so far i just wished they made more episodes. Talk about it here. :hyper:

Hey. I came in this forum today looking to make this very thread myself. I bought the complete series on DVD for cheap the other day and plan on watching an episode or two later. I'll let you know what I think!

It's an interesting "what if" continuation from the first movie. The episode with the Lizard is especially good. It's a shame it didn't go past the first season, there would have been some big issues to deal with after the last few episodes that started to introduce some continuous and dark storylines.

I never hated the show, I did like it a lot better than Spider-Man Unlimited.

Dang thats weird, im going to hopefully buy it sometime soon, and im looking forward to the new spiderman cartoon coming out next year.

Personally I liked the show very much, although I know that there are a lot of people who didn't. The only thing that I can really agree with those people on is that the villians (with the exception of the Lizard) were kinda lame, being generic or cheap knockoffs of other more known villians. But other than that I loved the show and was sorry that it ended soooo quickly and also the way that it did, ending on a cliff hanger.

The thing that I most ABSOLUTELY loved about the show, the representation of "Spider-man" himself. The way he moved, he is animated in THE best way possible, better than any Spider-man animated show. Of course he has his classic "Spidey" poses but, his other movements are also done beautifully. The way he is animated during the fight scenes, the way it is choreographed, amazing. One of the things that I hated about the Fox Spider-man animation is that Spider-man was weak, literally. He seemed like he was always getting his but kicked. He just DID NOT appear in the least bit, formidable. Heck, just thinking about it, I just wish I could make a video compiling together all the fight scenes from the MTV Spider-man. There is one scene that I thought was great where Spidey is running/crawling on the side of a building chasing after a getaway vehicle and keeping up with it!!!

I also liked the voice actor for Spidey, and yes I actually thought "Doogie Howsers" voice was better suited for Spidey than that "Brady" kid. Also I thought that the Spidey trademark quips were great. Overall I just loved how "Spidey" was portrayed. He looked, moved, and sounded exactly as I would imagine him.

And finally I also liked the somewhat more adult tone of the show. I know that Spidey in general is a light-hearted character but he deals with a lot serious issues. Personally, I don't like Spidey to be so "cartoonish" all of the time. But then again, I like somewhat "dark" Spidey, heck I started collecting Spidey comics during the "McFarlane" era. And I know how a lot of you feel about him around here.

Anyhow, I thought it was a great show. I went out and bought the season on dvd as soon as it was released. I loved pretty much everything about the show but I just thougt i'd share what I thought was exceptionally great about the MTV Spider-man.

I remember going out of my way to watch this. I think it was on Friday nights. Man, that timeslot did it in. It was a good show, I think if more younger kids (I was probably 15 when it debuted) then it would've been able to succeed, but honestly the timeslot killed it.

Okay. I've watched the first eight episodes so far. And I gotta tell you guys, having not seen anything like that before, the animation was mind-blowing! :wow:

Seems to me this was one cartoon that really was ahead of it's time. I'll post more once i've seen the last five episodes.

Well i finished watching yesterday and kinda sad to finish it, i got to say i was very happy about it like Dark Spidey said the animation was mind blowing and just an overall good show. The baddies weren't to good tho the only actual good ones were Reptile and Craven the rest were cheap knock off of other characters like Ultra-Spidey said. This show would have been a big hit if not for its time slot, i also really liked how it was pointed at teenagers and not kids. Well good show and hope to buy the season.

Dammit i hated the ending dang cliffhangers!

for some reason I dont remember liking it when I first saw it (only like 1 or 2 episodes) but I have the whole thing now and Im loving it.

same here. i remember it watching it 10 minutes of it one night and i thought it sucked, then my brother gave me the entire season on dvd for my birthday and watched the whole thing through and i really enjoyed it. sure, its not as good as the 90's version, but it was a different take on spidey and it wasn't all that bad. whether or not it was intended to be an ultimate spidey version in cartoon format, that's the way i viewed it.

I was looking into the few eps I got on VHS and the episode with Electro was pretty good, I just don't like the stilted CGI animation and Peter seems to suffer from huge torso and tiny waist syndrome.

I thought the show was good for what it was, I think another season should have definately been made but whatever.

i really liked it. my only complaints right now i think are

-Kingpin seemed stronger then Spidey
-Spidey and MJ swearing - just seems out of character to me even if they have in the comics
-Dr. Connors was a major *****e bag
-ugly MJ
-oh and i hated that Indy girl

I loved that show. It's a crime that it only had one season.

I loved the MTV series, I wished they would have brought it back for another season. It made MJ and Peter act more like college kids, I'm not sure if that made any sence but oh well. I also like how they went with Electro. Did anyone else notice how Peter would always say how much his hand or whatever hurts when he punched someone?

(yay! my first post!)

It was weak, and dumb and going no where. It couldn't decide if it was in the comics' continuity or the movie's. And they couldn't do things 'cause it would be in an upcoming sequel and so on and so on. Just an excuse to use cgi, and really cgi aint a big deal, I want real animation, it is more beautiful to look at, some times it is okay but really if I want to se something that looks real I'll watch something real, but when I watch stuff like this I could barf, it was bad cgi, they all looked so FLAT!
