Mumbai brought to its knees

I'm waiting for something like this to happen, possibly on an even larger scale, in Bangalore. There's quite a bit of U.S. business (call centers, programmers, IT sector stuff, financial industry stuff) set up in Mumbai but Banagalore absolutely eclipses Mumbai when it comes to Western companies having set up shop there. If these terrorist cells really wanted to do damage, I'd expect them to go after Bangalore.

:cmad:I'm waiting for something like this to happen .. so u looking fwd to it ?

I'm pretty sure there's a difference between expecting something bad to happen and looking forward to something bad.

No, I'm not looking forward to it. My company has a lot of business in Bangalore. I just feel it's inevitable.

This is India’s 9/11, Beslan really painful being here its like 9/11 all over.
A kid down our street was a victim. Boy was interning at Taj as a Hotel management student. Everything is chaotic noting planned by the police or the army.
The terrorist on the other hand are well trained and co ordinate look like something from Threadstone. Check ndtv’s website for the cellphone footage.

k my bad misread 'waiting' as 'looking forward to'. i'm headin there tomoro. which company u at anyway trust me b'lore cant handle anything on half this scale. Aint tough like this city. Really the psychological impact of this is huge

Maybe it was just a little too soon. You know... As exampled by the fact that you put a pre-emptive strike on your initial post, presumably to attack posters who would find your comment immature and mean-spirited.

Why would make a post that you knew was probably going to be found offensive. ...

TROLL!! RUN!!

You haven't been here that long, so let me introduce myself. I'm the Joker, and there's no such thing as "too soon" as far as I'm concerned. Everything can be funny at any time, including horrible puns about terrorism.

That's the sad part. "The Joker" has to easily be one of the most sought after names on this board and the guy who has it is one of the worst posters.

Why? Because "The Joker" tells bad jokes and doesnt stop to think about how he might hurt others feelings? Actually, the name fits pretty well if you ask me.

Well I think the name should go to someone more deserving but that's just me.

Someone nicer? Someone more considerate? Its THE JOKER! His jokes arent funny, he's insensitive and people dont like him. It fits.

If it fits or not isn't the point. The point is that it's a classic name and the guy who owns it on this board is not deserving in my opinion.

So we have to act in some way as our title name

Damn people grow up :whatever:

Thats what Im screaming...he got a "good" name so he has to somehow "deserve" the name??? Thats just stupidity.

This is a comic book messageboard and the guy who owns "The Joker", the most popular villian in all of comics, is an insenstive troll. That's what I'm screaming...

The Joker is a *****e with a heart of gold. Leave him alone.

Well, no one wanted it before him or itd have been taken, so the name isnt as popular as you think.

Personally, i just regret not giving myself a geeky superhero name like Lethargic Lad, Forbush Man or The Geek

I don't know about that. I'm sure over half the regulars on the TDK boards would give their left testicle for it.

Def feel for the ppl going thru this, and will pray for their families. Sometimes the screwed up logic of this world is confusing. Terrorists attack and usually try to back it up with faulty logic of them being in the right because their targets are evil. Yet they attack innocent civilians on what some ppl celebrate as a day of giving thanks and peace. I know it doesn't make sense, it just is a compounding confusion on how this, or killing in general, can make sense to anyone.

As for the argument, personally I'd just suggest dropping it. Joker was probably fishing since he mocked it, then mocked others before anyone could even respond. On the other hand by arguing with him you just derail the thread further. Probably best just to ignore it and talk about the topic. Sad that ppl died, even sadder that ppl are mocking, joking, arguing about it in a thread about said deaths.

It's not an uncommon on the Hype for ppl to joke around or argue in threads about death. I'd suggest not getting worked up over it.

So who were the terroists? Pakistani Muslims? Is this just more Hindu vs Muslim crap? If that's the case then my feelings on religion are justified. People should just have a ideas about religion, but to have blind faith, so much so that you will kill for your religion is wrong. I know not all Muslims are bad but it just makes me laugh when they say their religion is peaceful, they are the most aggressive fanatics out there. So many lives lost because of religion, it's a disgrace.
I don't wanna go on a Muslim rant but they do really piss me off. They immigrate to other countries and expect everyone to ***** foot around them. In England, especially London there is hundreds of mosques yet they say we are not tolerant to them. Hold on a sec, how many Christian churches are in Saudi Arabia? Errr I would imagen a handfull if any at all. If millions of Christians or Hindus or Sikhs immigrated to Saudi Arabia or Pakistan and started demanding places of worship built at the taxpayers expense I guarantee they would be laughed at. Or just burn some effigies or start stoning people. They are barbarians.

About Muslims being barbaric or aggressive fanatics, there is this HUGE misconception (it's actually a myth) that Muslims are more accepting of killing innocent civilians especially here in the civilized west, where the death of innocents civilians is considered "collateral damage."

There was a study done by the University of Maryland's Program on International Public Attitudes. It asked, "bombing and other attacks intentionally aimed at civilians" are "never justified."

In Indonesia, 74% of the people polled said it was never justified.

In Pakistan, 86% agreed that it was never justified. That's important because the second the attack happened Pakistan was blamed, even though the very day before peace talks with India and Pakistan were VERY VERY promising. And Pakistani militants could be behind this but they don't speak for the majority of the populous.

Bangladesh, 81%.

When Americans were asked, only 46% agreed.

As for Churches in Saudi Arabia, Osama Bid Laden considers the royal family oppressive. So, there's that.

The whole "they're barbarians" thing is a little lame. Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin, Slobodan Milosevic, Mao, Charles Taylor, Robert Mugabee...I could go on with this...these people weren't Muslims, but I don't hold Catholicism, or atheists, or Christians responsible.

Bin Laden was a CIA tactician. So was Saddam. Taliban helped us stop the Reds. Saudi rulers and the Shah gave us oil for cheap. This bid for cheap oil and imperialistic greed is not the fault of Muslims. We can't wait til the grounds all dried up.

I can understand anger and frustration, but ignorance in the face of hate and intolerance isn't going to solve anything.

First off... May I use this quote as part of my sig, because it was effin' awesome.

Secondly, I thought it was funny... But seriously you knew people would consider it too soon, you posted it because the part that is funny is the shock that you would make light of something totally serious.

I already said that I don't think ALL Muslims are like that. But it cannot be denied that their civilizations are more barbaric. I mean, they still cut hands of thiefs and stone women for looking at other men, well in some countries they do. Any religion that condones the stoning of women for such trivial things is a disgrace to me. But to be honest, I have no time for any religion, it's all a load of bollox IMO.
