Musicians

I am in a Rock/Punk/Metal band called Pair Of Sevens, I play guitar and back up vocals. We are recording and coming out with a demo hopefully by the end of this month.

I'm fairly certain that my very BEING was being modified by Led Zeppelin, since my Mum used to play Led Zeppelin on headphones and hold them to her womb while I was in my SUPER-MEGA-UBER-Formative stages.
.:)

That's funny cuz my ma did the samething with me

LMFAO! Don't you EVER tell me where you found that picture.

jag

I play Guitar, keyboard, drums, bass...eh, I can pretty much play anything I pick up except stuff like brass.

I had a band, but we split, each of us wanted different things.

I'm like Wilhelm, I live and breathe music. But I don't limit myself to one type of music. I mean, one day I could listen to Metallica and then the next day I could listen to Kraftwerk. Whatever has a good tune, I'm there.

I am the same way with music, however I'm not much into electronica/ techno.

I know there are a lot of equipment ****es out there (me included)
So I'll show you what I play.

Guitars:
Epiphone Les Paul Special II, all stock
Jackson Dinky w/ EMG-81 in the bridge.
BC Rich Platinum Warlock (83') /w Duncan Devastator in bridge
Jackson RR3 Crimson Swirl w/ EMG-81/85 (Zakk Wylde set)

Amplifiers:
Marshall MG10cd, 10 watt practice amp.
Marshall AVT150H, 150 watt amp

The only effects I use is a built in acoustic simulator and I use D'addario 11' strings religiously.

I'm intrested in seeing what everyone else plays.

I use to play guitar,I have two sitting in the closet. :(
I'd like to learn to play the violin, for ****s and giggles :)

I'm a drummer. I love my drum set. DW's own. I have a band called The Armory. We played some big shows, but we're really falling apart right now due to time constraints.

I also play piano.

I played the guitar. Quit. I moved on to the Trombone. Quit. Than I tried playing piano. Quit. I have no musical talent whatsoever. I want to try and play the electric guitar again though.

What happened to your Joker avy?? God, I loved that.

I brought it back. I'll get a new avatar once I reach 10,000 posts. (because that a milestone.)

Okay, good.

I play guitar, and I have a friend who plays bass, and we used to have a sick drummer, but he moved away. We're not a very serious band, we just jam. Then I have these other two guys who I'm going to play bass for. I always thought the name The Face Eaters was a cool name, but no one is with me on that. My friend thinks its too Def Metal, or Death Metal, whataver. Well, thats not what we're going for, but I don't think of the name that way. Thoughts?

Representing the brass....:(
I'd like to join another ska/punk band that has a brass section.

the ska/punk band I am in at the moment lacks that.

I'm growing a taste for ska/punk

What bands would you recommend in the category?

Well there are many different type of ska to consider.

You have:

First Wave ska (60s):
Desmond Dekker (Definetely check him out)
Prince Buster

Second Wave ska (Late 70s):
The Specials
Madness
The Selecter
Bad Manners
The Beat
Fishbone.

Third wave ska (90s to Present):
Reel Big Fish
Less than Jake (their earlier stuff)
The Toasters
The Pietasters
Mustard Plug
Streetlight Manifesto
Spunge
Catch 22
Dancehall Crashers
Mad Caddies
The Mighty Mighty Bosstones
NOFX (some of their stuff)
Operation Ivy
Sublime
Leftover Crack (Punk/ska)
Choking Victim

I play saxophone and guitar. I'm not officially in a band but me and some guys are talking about a jazz/funk group.

It was more of a one-off thing, but we managed to get our director let a 4-man (3 guys and a girl, but oh well) all-brass group play excerpts from various ska songs (mostly Reel Big Fish) during football games in the stands (our football team sucked, so the band was most of the entertainmentat times). We could only play certain sections without guitar (we could cover the bass parts well enough), but it was still pretty sick for something we set up on a whim, and we were getting to play for the 150+ people at a time.
