I've always felt as though this concept has a ton of potential. My idea is slightly reminiscent of Enchanted and The Muppets. It focuses mainly on Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor.

The movie opens with the Superfriends, comprised on Batman, Superman, Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Marvin and Wendy fighting Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor is attempting to use a time machine, but before he can jump through the portal Batman breaks the control panel. The chain reaction transports all the superfriends to the "real world", although tangent to our own reality no one is familiar with DC heroes.

Superman, Batman and Robin find themselves in New York City, as does Lex Luthor. Even though they are dressed in costumes, no one seems to acknowledge them or care. Lex Luthor quickly disappears into the crowd, and Batman and Superman decide to seek shelter and try to determine where or when they are.

Lex makes his way to the Subway, and by chance sits next to Rupert Murdock on the train. Lex begins to converse with Mr. Murdock, and Murdock inquires about what Lex does for a living. Lex talks about his business (in his reality) and drops hints about all his shady Real Estate deals. Rupert Murdock asks what Lex is doing now, and Lex artfully replies he is unemployed. Rupert Murdock says he'd like to introduce Lex to some friends at an investment firm that he thinks Lex would work well with.

Meanwhile Wonder Woman finds herself in LA. She chances upon the backyard of the Playboy mansion. When she sees all the naked ladies walking around she falsely assumes she has found an Amazonian embassy. While walking around Hugh Hefner spots her and asks one of the bunnies to bring her upstairs to the bedroom. Hugh tries to put the moves on her, in response Wonder Woman ties him up with her lasso. Hugh plays along thinking it's some fetish. With the lasso of truth around Hefner, Wonder Woman cross examines him, only to determine she is no longer in her own world.

Marvin and Wendy find themselves on a desolate road somewhere in the midwest. They start hitch hiking and they are picked up by a patisch of the Scooby Doo gang. The four of them are perpetual drug users who have a noisey dog they all talk to as if it were a human. The group is coming from a 'Burning Man' type event, and Marvin and Wendy naively try the drugs they offer.

Weeks late while searching New York for clues as to their friend's whereabouts with Batman, Superman hears a man falling from scaffolding at a construction site. He immediately flies there, and saves him in mid fall. A crowd erupts around him taking camera phone photos and causing a general ruckus. By the time Superman gets away he's being broadcast on every screen in the city: "A HERO WALKS AMONG US". Superman reconvenes with Batman and Robin and the three flee to the top of a mountain.

Atop the mountain Batman tells Superman that he is running low on cash. Even though he had $10,000 of Bruce Wayne’s money on him, they’ve burned through it at an alarming rate. Superman figures since his cover is blown he will dawn his Clark Kent disguise for the time being. Dick Grayson, Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent wander the city. Eventually Dick Grayson walks by a news stand a spots Wonder Woman on the cover of Playboy topless. Alarmed by the discovery, the three begin to feel their situation is getting dire. Clark Kent decides his best bet is to try to get his old job back, and use the connections in the press to locate their friends.

Bruce and Dick decide to break off from Clark and let him do his thing.

Clark walks past the FOX NEWS building and walks inside hoping his skills as a reporter and journalist will land him a job. Instead the news room immediately sees through his crap disguise when he takes his hat off, identifying him as the hero from the television. He is confronted by Rupert Murdock who claims to be a huge fan, and offers him a job immediately with the network. Clark Kent accepts.

Batman and Robin don their costumes yet again. They become vexed as they scour rooftops for crime to fight, but are unable to spot anything. They don’t understand why colorful criminals don’t leave calling cards.

Eventually Batman chances upon a yuppie investor buying coke off a drug dealer. Batman and Robin, in a very excessive fashion, fight the young man. Then they escort him to a local police station.

When they arrive, the Police and horrified by the beating Batman and Robin placed on the young man, now having seizures on the floor. The two are arrested immediately and place in separate rooms. While interrogating Robin, Robin naively talks about he and Batman’s adventures, and the cops begin to suspect Batman is a child molester of some kind. The police lock up Bruce Wayne, and remand Dick Grayson to custody hoping to gain testimony against Bruce in regards to his suspected pedophilia.

Superman meets with the board at Fox, a board that now includes the up and coming Lex Luthor. Superman is mortified, but Lex and he speak privately and Lex explains they are no longer in their world and that here the rules are different. Superman reluctantly accepts his fate, knowing his options are limited.

Superman is immediately put to work for their brand; campaigning with politicians, doing commercials, and acting as a Fox News pundit. Eventually he finds himself in Florida making an appearance at a retirement village owned by his network’s parent company. While in Florida he goes to Seaworld on his day off. He goes to watch the Dolphins perform finding the trainer to be none other than Aquaman. Superman confronts Aquaman after the show. Aquaman says “Aquaman” is just his stage name, and insists on being called Arthur. Superman tells Arthur he’s really not too wild about what he is doing, and implores Arthur to help he reunite the Superfriends so they can go back to the way it was. Arthur refuses saying he had been disrespected as Aquaman, and that here he is a local celebrity, and worked his way up from an entry level position. Everyone loves him now. Superman departs as Aquaman is greeted by a colorful group of retirees all requesting his autograph.

Superman returns to New York. While sitting in his green room awaiting an appearance on the Tonight Show, Superman’s super hearing overhears Lex Luthor discussing some less than reputable business practices with another investor.

After the show, Superman goes outside to meet an adoring public. While signing autographs he spots Wendy and Marvin in the crowd. He takes them and flies to the top of a nearby building. Superman says he is glad to see them, but instead of a warm welcome Wendy and Marvin chew him out for being a corrupt corporate shill.

Superman flies away dejected.

While Lex is attending a very swank New York Night Club, Superman breaks into his office. Going through his computer Superman comes to realize that Lex has been amassing wealth by defrauding people of millions of dollars, including the retirement funds of the retirees in Florida.
Superman cannot take it anymore. So he heads west and finds Wonder Woman, who has taken over the Playboy mansion after Hugh Hefner tried to grope her. Superman says he really needs her help. Wonder Woman expresses eagerness to leave and the two of them depart.

Meanwhile, back in Florida, Aquaman has finished another show. This time only one of the old ladies approaches him afterwards for an autograph. She says she can no longer attend his shows since Lex Luthor, the man handling her retirement, lost all of it. She is now without her home, and many of her possessions. Aquaman says he’ll do everything he can to help.

In New York, a guard comes by and tells Batman his bail has now been posted, and since Robin will not testify against him he is free to go. The now wealthy Aquaman and Superman have posted his bail. Wonder Woman is also with them.

Superman says he has a plan on how to take down Lex. Later that night Superman makes a live appearance on FOX News, but instead of reading the script Superman blows the whistle on Lex Luthor’s investment firm, and even claims to have played a part in them. Bruce and Diana take over the control room to make sure the cameras stay live.

Lex immediately flees the building with suitcases full of money. He instructs his driver to take him to his boat, which he intends to take into international waters. Bruce and Diana jump in a cab and instruct the cab driver to follow him. When they get to the pier Lex is already casting off. He thinks he’s getting away scott free but then…

…a giant whale comes up and lands on top of his boat. While floating in the water on a piece of wood, Aquaman rises on top of the whale and tells Lex it’s over.

Down in Florida Aquaman uses his wealth to buy back the retirement community. He places Diana in charge of operations, while Bruce and Dick run security.

Lex is taken into custody and signs a full confession. The police don’t notice Wonder Woman’s golden lasso tied firmly around his ankle as he signs.

Lex is taken to a Maximum Security prison. He comes upon his cell to find out his cellmate is Clark Kent, who is there of his own accord. Having confessed to the crimes on national television, Clark too had to accept a prison sentence, and did so willingly. Clark explains to Lex that in prison, might makes right, so no one messes with him, but for Lex it’ll be a different story. So if Lex wants to be safe, Clark explains, he’ll have to do everything Clark says.

The end.

I have it starting as the cartoon. I kind of like the idea of Spacey as Lex, Routh as Superman. I could see a younger Rob Lowe as Batman, and I don't know about Grayson. The Fox news is a little blunt, could simply be a parody of Fox, and it doesn't really matter either. I'm interested in the general concept of a parody with mainstream heroes. This would be more satirical, but I've always wanted a funny DC movie, whether this or JLI.

This is actually incredible. I'd love to write a script based on this, as just this week I started working on outlining a satirical "Super Friends" webseries that would chronicle the heroes living together in a crappy apartment complex after being evicted from the Hall of Justice and how they all devolve into annoying archetypes of people we all have dealt with in our lives before. Your idea is so much better.

Thanks. I'm a little put off by my bad grammar, but it is a first draft, not a final. I also feel like my "message" is a little heavy handed, yet I feel for the nature of what I'm going for it would have to be. I wanted to make the general case that their powers and general approach to the world is ridiculous, but their moral character actually does count for something. Superman becomes the propoganda machine, Batman becomes broke and no one trusts him, Wonder Woman becomes a sleezey sex icon for teenage boys, and Aquaman's passion for what he does actually translates well, as does Lex Luthor's skills. I've always had this strong sense that in the real world most of the superheroes who are "cool" would be unable to function, and many of the villains or some of the morally ambiguous characters would amass power and wealth quickly. So yeah, I am going for that sort of commentary.
