My one problem with the show...

Okay, so they speak Japanese in Japan. Normal. They speak Spanish in Mexico. Normal too. Why do they speak English in India? Is the Indian language too hard to do on an American TV show? I dont know, I just found it strange that they do the other two languages, but when it comes to India, they go with English.

Also, there is no Indian language per say. There is Hindi, Urdu, Bhojpuri and many other smaller languages/variations of these language branches.

Just annoyed by the endless lamenting in spanish. She talks is spanish, she cries, she talks in english, everything is hunkydory. What's with that?

Because she's putting in an effort to talk to an English speaking person. She's more likely to be all lamentful in her first language.

I find it incredibly unlikely that there isn't a single person in Hong Kong that knows any English words.

^Of course people speak English in Hong Kong. Signs are in English and Cantonese and I know of at least one english speaking university.

Eh? Have you ever been there? I've been there as a child, and even then, there were plenty of people who spoke and understood English. This was in the early 80's.
