, I wonder what all they would have left to film in London and Hong Kong(besides the Lau stuff)

They are going to film Chris Nolan in a vest doing the Carlton dance with Batman and Joker.. maybe scarecrow if there is time.

Extreme Vest close-up, oh you're a naughty vest arent you.

I would pay extra if that was in the special features.. I should write a petition for Chris Nolan to do the carlton dance in a vest.

Forge my signiture............only Tom Jones' "Its not unsual to be loved by anyone" should play in the background

It would seem from this report, that Nolan is basing TDK loosely on The Long Halloween. If this is Dent's (fake) funeral then it wouldn't be too different to when Dent faked getting killed in the explosion in TLH, which is pretty cool.

Well, as has already been highlighted at this point, the funeral is for Loeb. The Mayor speaks at it, and is potentially rushed by someone associated with the Joker, if it isn't the Joker himself. Though, this all gets muddy to me because we have these reports of someone getting rushed on stage, and then we have reports that say what freaks the audience out is the firing squad turning on the people at the podium. Presumably both happen, but I don't think anyone knows how it's all supposed to be timed in the scene.

At any rate, if there is a "fake" funeral for Dent, I hope it isn't filmed or at least I hope it isn't focused on for very long. We already have Gordon faking his death (right?) and a huge funeral scene. I think the audience will have had their fill of funerals and death faking by the time acid flies into Dent's mug.

stitches, nnnnniiiiiiiiiccccccceeeee

I'm a little skeptical about someone actually seeing stitches on Ledger's face. I dunno, the third hand nature of it all coupled with the fact that other people have been close to the Joker during this scene and haven't mentioned stitches makes me hesitant to accept this tidbit.

I could easily see someone looking at Ledger's scarring and because of the strange texture imagining he or she saw stitches.

Also, in the report, they are TOLD that he has stitches ... they don't actually see for themselves.

That's another layer of skepticism for me.

I am of the mind that everything we see and hear should be taken with a grain of salt. Who knows what will be edited out, reshot, or dubbed over.

Agreed. Plus, the excitement of the situation could alter ones perception of what they are actually seeing.

Hell, I was there on Saturday and I thought it was the Joker attacking Gordon at first ... now we hear that maybe it was a "21 Gun Assassination attempt" on the Mayor that was happening and instead, someone is diving to protect the speaker.

Who knows ... grain of salt. ;)

Good point, spoken by someone who knows about a film's process.

No perma-white? I'm cool with that. I know were going to love the Joker anyway. Heath will be so good it just won't be an issue. and you know what? If rumors are correct we may get to see Joker permawhite thru the eyes of someone(s) seeing him during a drug induced illusion! that would be all I need!

One of just a couple scenes that I reeeeaaaalllly want to see is one with the Joker in some dirty, grungy, concrete basement, with a shard of dirty, broken mirror, and I want him to sew up his own mouth with some huge godawful looking needle and thread, and go crazier, and Crazier, and CRAZIER in the process!:wow:

Good stuff!:woot: :oldrazz:

Yeah, I could really see it work where he is cutting himself. Then as he does it he realises how horrible it is, but continues and laughs about it more and more while he cuts into his cheeks.

Wait a second...

I thought it was LOEB'S funeral?

So there are going to be at least 2 funeral scenes for three people in this film?

Yeah, that is the newest update, someone else said that and it reminded me. When we were walking behind the podium set, I saw a man who looked like the mayor Nestor Carbonell or whatever his name is rehearsing his speech during a lunch break. It could be that the extra was mistaken and it was the Commissioner's funeral.

Does Joker shoots the mayor at Loeb's Funeral or is it the other way around?
.

Ok, I just read this report and noticed some possible mistakes (I know others mentioned them but I'm gonna repeat them; to get this thread back on track): :whatever:

1) - I don't think the Joker shoots anyone during that take.
(perhaps he shoots someone in later scenes, but not in the scene they filmed over and over and over)

2) - It's Loeb's Funeral, Not the Mayor's. And it's the Mayor being attacked, Not Loeb.
(since Loeb's the one being memorialized)

3) - The 2 actor's driving around I believe were reported to be Gordan and that Reese guy from "Lost" ... not Dent.
(But this could be another scene)

4) - I never saw stitches on Ledger but that doesn't mean they weren't there.
(since I can't remember if he had makeup on his face or not. :cwink: )

Again, these are just my observations of the report ... still VERY exciting though! :word:

I am in agreement with you on number 2. I have already stated that it was the extras mistake and it was the other way around. Number one though I am 100% sure of the shooting. The guy would talk then a sudden POP! Everyone would scramble, people in the back would drop the blue Gotham City flags they were holding for the ceremony, and someone would tackle the mayor to protect him. Number 3 is also not the mayor in the car. I saw him a block away not even five minutes after I saw Oldman passing by in the car.

I was one of the police extras on Saturday and Sunday (doubt me if you will, I can offer no proof here). There were indeed errors in the thread starter's report, as suspected.

1) Joker does indeed shoot at someone during the Commisioners funeral :The Mayor. They filmed him doing so from some angles and not from others depending on the shot. The 10 Officers doing the rifle salute are Joker and his goons in disguise.

2) It is Loeb's Funeral. The Mayor is speaking about Loeb. We were not told of anyone else being memorialized. We were also not told if the Mayor lives or dies, only that he is "having a bad day".

3) It was Gordan and Reese in the car, also with a Gotham Cop or two with shotguns. The other person mentioned in the seat with Nolan I believe was the 1st Assistant Director, Nilo (don't know his last name. Very nice guy).

4) Ledger had no stitches visible in his face. I was within feet of him. He had some sort of prostethics on for the scaring on either side of his face and makeup; lots of makeup. We could not tell if the white on his face was makeup that was rubbed off, or if the Joker was supposed to have applied flesh tone over a white face; could have been either. This was a hot topic amongst the extras all day. He is indeed very, very creepy looking.

No one rushed the stage. Joker takes off through the crowd after the shooting. Gordan jumps on the Mayor trying to save him.

So that was Gordon jumping the Speaker every time ... interesting.

And the Joker was one of the "21 Gun Assassins" ... Cool! :word:

Thanks for the clarifications. :yay:

Thanks, GPD Officer

I talked with one of the extras as I said in my report yesterday. Perhaps he was mistaken about the stitches. And thanks for clearing up who was in the car with Gordon.

well now that the cat's out of the bag i may as well chime in. (and i can confirm that what GPD_Officer has said is true)

busby, the PA who was handling pretty much ~400 extras that day, was prepping us for the scene and said "the joker has killed the commissioner and has just killed the mayor."

however, when the 2nd AD was prepping us, he said "there has been an assassination attempt on the mayor."

take what you will from those 2 quotes.
