I mean a lot of people do messed up things and Im not giving Dre a pass necessarily. But I think it's gotten to the point for me where it's weird how much people are jumping on this movie. Not so much in thread but just around the net.
It's very weird to me because alot of people give others a pass but dont seem to give Dre a pass.
-Sean Penn beat and held Madonna hostage,
-Clint Eastwood (my personal favorite actor of all time) was a really bad womanizer, and not in the just "he got with many women type way" but he actually treated women like s***.
-John Lennon was verbally abusive to his child and was violent toward women
EDIT: I can't believe i forgot this one: Roman Freaking Polanski. Didnt he, at the least, have sex with a 13 year old girl? We all still love Chinatown, The Pianist, and Rosemary's Baby
The list can go on an on from actors, to musicians, etc. But a lot of people seem to be giving a pass to some of these guys. By giving a pass I mean they don't go into threads, chatrooms, or general convos about these guys and say "Well so and so did this". I'm sure Robert Downey Jr. wasn't the best father or husband when he was on drugs but we've all accepted him and love watching him work.
Not many are actually condoning Dre's actions. Hell on the Hype I dont see anyone condoning his actions at all. I think most of us have said that they did the wrong things by making Dre out to be a saint. But to keep harping it at the point and saying things like "People should be offended about what these people did" while ignoring other artist's transgressions is really weird to me
Yeah theyve been trying to get funding for that for a while. I remember around Notorious' release they were working on it still.
I think this will push the Tupac biopic forward. Their arent that many rappers like who would make a good story. Tupac is def. one of them and they need to bring it to the screen.
Biggie (did that)
Death Row (covered that kinda in SoC and will likely cover it in Tupac biopic)
NWA (did that)
Bad Boy vs Death Row/East vs West/Biggie-Pac Murders (kinda covered)
are the hip hop biopics that I think would be really interesting to see.

He may be doing a biopic with Singleton. A few other sites have mentioned it but it's rumor right now.
