what is the best thing in SR to you?

to me, the best thing is the daily planet tower. SR is mediocre in almost every aspects.

CGI.........................heheh i am just kidding :)

The more realistic take on clark Kent and the take on Superman being an international God Like protector, instead of being a boy scout with powers.

Plus the sheer badassery of carrying a city sized object made of kryptonite and throwing it into space while having some kryptonite imbedded in him...

I don't know how any feat of strength in the comicverse is going to top that. Blew me away.

The best thing in SR was the scenes where he saved people, the plane rescue, catching the globe, the earthquake sequence, lifting the boat out of the water and of course throwing New Krypton into space.

Routh's performance.

Mind you, I didn't like SR at all. It was long and boring and much of the plot was dumb, but after all my doubting about Routh, he pops up on screen as Superman, and keeps me believing that he is the man of steel.

Hmmm...it's tough to pick just one. I'd have to say the plane rescue. I also liked the scene where Superman goes to talk to Jason after having found out that he is his son. :yay:

This was as ******ed as the whole spinning the Earth backwards to turn back time. Kryptonite is poisonous to Clark and WILL kill him, a small portion of it burned his fingers and made it where he could get the poop beaten out of him by Lex's goons. He can't lift an island full of it or he would have be dead before he made it even half way.:o :whatever:

THE Routh
i have no problems with him standing next to Bale in the crossover movie..

and Richard (James Marsden's character) dude was superman in human form.

It's been mentioned over and over again, he went beneath the Earth's crust. It shielded him from the Kryptonite until it started to poke through towards the end. The rest was sheer willpower.

My favorite part, personally, is the plane rescue. No matter how many times I see it, it still amazes me.

How could he go beneath the earths crust? NK was an island in the middle of the ocean. The entire island was made of kryptonite, even the bottom, where he was. He picked up the entire island and that was it. He was no where near the earths crust.

Singer had his own rules for kryptonite. Hey, it's his movie, he can do what he wants. Personally, I thought the problems of the film went so much deeper than a director changing how kryptonite hurts Superman, so it's minor anyway.

He obviously goes into the Earth. What would anyone think he was diving into? He hits the bottom of the ocean, digs underneath there and then starts to push the Kryptonite island up. That's not pieces of the island falling off as he lifts it, that's earth. It's not until the Kryptonite breaks the earth that Superman starts to feel weak.

Not only that but I think some people tend to miss the entire point. Superman is doing something to save everyone that we as the audience are supposed to feel is impossible. He's supposed to be defying all odds, and the audience is not supposed to feel comfortable in the thought that he'll have no problem doing so. What would be the point in that?

And the best thing about SR is Brandon.:yay:

The production value, but too bad that alone doesn't make a great movie.

The plane sequence was very unimaginative and boring. The slightest bit original. The only part I really loved was the bullet bouncing off his eye. Too bad there weren't any other small things featured in the film like that.

After reading this thread, the best thing about SR is all the lovers making up their own versions of how and why things happened without a shred of evidence.

Delusions are a wonderful thing.

Well, matt, all I can say is that after watching the movie 12 times, I know what happens. I'm not delusional, I know what I'm seeing with my own two eyes. And I'm not the only one seeing it.

the scene with young clark running through the cornfields. not only was it beautiful and perfect, but it showed how great a reboot could have been.
