1. Ledger's Joker, amazing that after nearly a decade it's still the diamond standard for villain performances, in fact it measures up against any villain in any film.
2.Zemo, an almost "everyman" kind of character, a guy whose total commitment and cold rage takes down the Avengers from within. A really terrific villain, played brilliantly by Daniel Bruhl.
3. Hiddleston's Loki, really does a wonderful job with a character who is essentially Asgard's biggest *****e bag. Makes Loki compelling, interesting and charming, not an easy task.
4. Magneto:they almost can't do an x-men movie without him, both oth Sir Ian and Michael Fassbender have done a terrific job capturing the essence of the character.
5. Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman, IMO the best Catwoman to date. Complicated and compelling...with claws. Meow !
6. Jack Nicholson's Joker: steals every scene he's in.
7. Wilem Dafoe's Green Goblin, doesn't take himself too seriously and is marvelously OTT.
8.General Zod, personally I prefer Snyder's Zod, because he's crazy but is actually menacing, not just a cartoon character.
9. Dr Octopus, some elements of the character bugged me, but they did a great job with a villain who looks a bit silly even the comics
10. Mark Strong's Sinestro: a spot on portrayal that got everything right , in a film that got pretty much everything else wrong.
Honourable mention
. Bane, to be honest I didn't really care for this interpretation of the character - especially the voice. I know what Nolan was trying to do, but it didn't work for me. Anyway, what redeems the character IMO is his utterly merciless smackdown of Batman, that's almost hard to watch.
