In this day and age, there are certain names that were probably somewhat on the prominent side back in the heyday, but nowadays it would either come off as weird or retro, but not exactly cool. Remember the days when every other kid would be named Suzy or be called Billy or something like that. When was the last time a chick was named Cybil? My own dad is named Burl, and the only other person with that name is Burl Ives, the dude that narrates the Rudolph special every year. There was one kid I went to school with whose parents named him Hiram, and he hated that **** so much.

what a pleasant idea for a thread. You know, I was just wondering the other day if the name "Hermione" has come back into fashion.

How about Humphrey, Daisy or Lilith.

I have to argue the name Forest. I see it quite a bit where I live.

Leonidas.

I'm naming my first kid that... biological or adopted.

and I won't let anyone call him or her Leo. :o

There are Reginalds still around. They just call them Reggie. I think a lot of the old money or upper class people still use some of these names because they have that "I'm wealthy" vibe to them.

Nobody names their young daughters "Sharon" anymore, really.

Nobody names their kids George Foreman anymore. That may be a good thing.

I guess Adolf. But that isn't really in the spirit of the thread.

Gordon? I wish Morgan Freeman named his son that. Most popular kid in school!
Provided it was a school filled with gamers.

Something tells me a select few still use Adolf..

Blanche, Esther, Gertrude, Oswald, Norman, Neville, Rupert are the only ones I can think of.

Cary
Marshall
Dudley
Sheldon
Mabel
Llewellyn
Jedediah
Booker
Buford
Zelda
Alfred

Love this idea for a thread. It also ties into my ideas about names telling a lot about people.

Norma, always hot.
Jennifer, chubby.
Helen, always a 6 out of a possible score of 10.

My buds and I always give fake names when we go to the strip club, which is every Friday and we usually use our grandfathers names and a fake last name. Like my strip club name is Luther K. Rockbottom, and my best bud Tony is Finneus A Hazelnut.

Reginald Harrington Chesterton von Trappe
Chester Moe Lester

i don't hear Natalie anymore

old school name Woodrow

Wilford
Gilbert
Beauregard
