Lol, no offense but that's one of the most ******ed arguments I've ever heard . First I doubt every Naruto fan even knows what Hot Topics is, and how do you know they sell their gear? t:

Two, who in the hell is arguing prep time in a Naruto argument? Let alone using Leet speak to do so? A lot of ppl use leet speak on the 'net, you almost can't play an online game or go to a forum without seeing it, so it's hardly just centered on Naruto fans.

Third I think the English dub has been aimed more towards 6-13 year olds. Maybe the original Japanese version ranged from kids to adults tho with the occasional cussing. Just saying I highly doubt the kids who watch it on Toonami are doing so to fit in on the Japanese "cool scene".

I might be stretching it....but maybe they watch it just because...I don't know, they like it? I seriously get tired of the arguments that ppl who watch anime only do it because they want to be Japanese. Anime's (like naruto) are entertainment pure and simple, just as the Soprano's are. If you enjoy it watch it, if you don't don't. Watching the Soprano's won't make you a mob wannabe, just as watching Naruto doesn't make you a Japanese ninja wannabe, it just means you find entertainment value from the action and stories.

Kishimoto is writing a Shônen series, which means the demograph is about 7-12, or to be less specific, 'young boys'. The English dub does nothing to hinder this as it properly carries over the themes of the Japanese Animé as well as the Japanese Animé carries over the themes of the Manga (which I truthfully do not know about).

When has Viz ever done a faithful English adaptation? Naruto, Inu Yasha (forgive me if I've spelt this wrong, I don't read or watch things pertaining to this franchise), Bleach, etc.

I'm crazy about naruto, and my three favorite shirts I have is one with the Leaf symbol, an Autobot shirt and a Descepticon shirt.. and I bought them all in non-hot topic shops... one at a convension and the other two at a "family" own store that sells things bougth online or some crap like that...

You don't know ****. You are a Noob, and by that I mean "a person who knows jack about what's he talking about". Have you not stopped to think(if you can) that many don't buy or watch licensed Anime because it just plain sucks? I've never bought anything pirated.. I download it for free, which is different. All of my DVDs are for things I support, which are good movies and good stuff in general. I would never support Viz or any other company because they are feeding us crap. Those "actors" can't act and they edit the anime to fit the washed down society of america. However, I would buy an anime made by companies which I can't remember that do anime with Mexican voice acting, because they are really good actors and not Soap Opera material.

And just because it's shonen doesn't mean it's not aimed to teens/young adults too.
