NBC Cancels Heroes

Doubtful. This isn't Firefly we're talking about here... there's no dedicated, loving fanbase left. There's only the ruins of what used to be quite a large numbers of admirers that have for the most part grown tired of the series' silly antics.

the writers strike didn't help, in fact it may have killed this show.

Plenty of shows survived the writer's strike. Heroes writers can try to hide behind it, but it doesn't excuse much.

SM4 and Heroes deserved to get canceled,

the spidey franchise only had one bad movie (imho) and didn't deserve a reboot, heroes on the other hand was dreadful for years

first season - amazing!
every other season - RUBBISH!

their original premise of a villian in secret picking off super powered humans with a varity of powers was fantastic and should have been explored far more, they diefinately revealed styler wayyyy too early. the concept should have been expaned to at least two season. every other concept they explored was either asking for trouble (time travel) or just plain boring (government hunts super humans) zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I will remember heroes for the best opening season of probably any show ever (shows like dexter, x-files etc) got better over time.

Didn't they fire like half of their first season writers after the first season? Well I guess we'll never know how the moon fits into those guys getting their powers, though it doesn't make sense anyway.

Like all of youse, I completely loved the first season! It all went downhill from the second season, I outright ignored this last season.
I couldn't be happier that they finally decided to cancel this sorry execuse for a superhero show.

So there are rumors of a tv movie? That would be nice even if the show did decline. I would personally argue that the show was good from episode one until the moment in season 2 where Mohinder shot Claire's dad because he didn't know what side was good or bad. That was the moment that triggered and ruined Heroes imo.

I just really cant believe the show peaked in it's first season. The first season should never be the best season of a series IMO, but Heroes somehow accomplished that.

That's true of a lot of shows, though. Do you think S1 is LOST's best season? I do.

No. Just no. Time travel can make any story great as long as they use GOOD time travel and write well with it.

Heroes went right into the business of bad time travel after season one.

Chamber, you're wrong there. Sylar was the most consistent characters on television. As he was consistently the writer's favorite so he was always consistently 'awesome'.

Yeah, season 4 was rather good. Especially the way they ended it. That's why I was hoping we'd at least get a wrap up movie.

I guess everyone will have to settle for some kind of DVD extra where they describe what they would have done in season 5.

I kept with it for every episode but even the improved season 4 was still slow to the point of frustration.

Shall miss it.
