:o the way Keaton says 7 Million dollars, winner takes all, puts hair on my already hairy chest.

Bad news, but maybe not so bad?

Need for speed only tracking at weak $21M and $53M Domestic total. HOWEVER, deadline is saying 300: Rise of An Empire is tracking at $40M+ while this site has it at low 20's as well.

I think Need for Speed will hit $17-$30M range opening weekend. Maybe $55-70M Domestic total. I think the international gross will be what greenlights a sequel.

I am still not sure what the point of the Raw appearance was. Did nothing really.

Didn't Need for Speed sponsor this past RAW?

So, seen ads during AMC's Walking Dead past two weeks. MTV's Teen Wolf. And various **** on Syfy, USANetwork, and CW. And ESPN.com had a ad banner at one point. And trailer in front of big hits Ride Along and Non-Stop.

They're making sure we know about it.

I really want a $30M+ weekend.....I want a sequel. Bad. I planned on seeing it twice, but I may be working two jobs soon so dunno anymore. Probably will see it still.

Got free passes to see this on Monday, hopefully I can make it.

:yay: post a spoiler free review...if you go.

So two web sites are predicting mid level hit. Seen predictions of 53M Domestic Total and 60M Domestic Total. Not exactly franchise starting, but we will see early Saturday morning when the weekend Estimate numbers come out on Deadline.

****, does this movie have a 10pm Thursday showing????

Hoping I see it twice. Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

I actually scored tickets to a special pre screening of this a few weeks ago, it wasn't amazing but I dug it. Reviews on my blog, linked in my signature.

Well I can say one thing from the footage I've seen I love how the car chases and racing looks just like old school car racing scenes from 70's classic cinema, I may like this movie just for visuals alone let alone the fact that I like Paul.

It was pretty solid, other than a few nitpicks, storywise it's got a simple sorta old school revenge story. The car racing on the other hand was incredible, it was extremely well shot. The one gripe I had was the lack of "b****" from Aaron Paul. He only said it once, but its a blink or you'll miss it kinda thing. My screening was in 3D and not counting a couple of cool shots, it was not really noticeable.
8/10

Looks like I am seeing it in 3D Thursday night or 2D Friday night.

Sadly, the movie has no buzz and seems like a box office bomb. Tracking at 19M for 47M overall Domestic according to well,....

It has aggressive ad campaign, but no one wants to go. :o while this is sad, it bonds well for me getting a ticket at the ticket booth for the 9:10 Thursday showing in 3D.

No one wants to go because they perceive it as a poor mans Fast and the Furious... even though Fast and Furious was heavily influenced by the Need for Speed games. A shame really.

All video games find their stories and ideas in film and books. Thus when they get adapted they almost always pale in comparison. Every time I see a trailer or tv spot for this, I just can't take it seriously. Even with all the talk about the stunts, it looks straight to video.

S** that must be the best straight to video movie i've ever seen then. :funny:

It looks great on the big screen, if any points goes to the film it is the cinematography. It beats all of the Fast and the Furious films just on that alone.

Oh and one thing I forgot, Michael Keaton is apparently on a IDGAF mode in all of his films lately (Robocop, The Other Guys, ect). He brought the much needed energy performance wise into the movie.

Nothing looks more straight to video then "fast cars" driving around meh terrain. Then they start talking and showing the ridiculously cliched story and it loses me completely. I think Aaron Paul and Dominic Cooper are fantastic, but they just don't look right here to me. Like kids playing about.

You won't get me to say many great thing about the Fast and Furious franchise, but they have the event movie feel down. They are big, exotic and have a cast that just fit.

I think it's due to the director, who did 'Acts of Valor', which makes Need for Speed look a little cheap. That and the misuse of the digital cameras they used. Use a filter or something, Jeez.

Keaton's still got it. Great to see him back in the limelight, i enjoyed his performance in Robocop aswell. Im seing this tomorrow and i am in good mindset towards this film. Cheers for the review Kane.

Got to see this a few days ago. It's pretty awesome. The car scenes are mind blowingly great but the drama is pretty cheesy

Getting crushed on RT at the moment. Sounds like it is as shallow as I feared.

25% isn't....ain't that...bad...okay, holy ****, only 17% fresh for Ride Along? ****....I like that movie. But I don't think it has a high replay value. :yay: I'm seeing this movie twice! In 3D tomorrow after work 9:10 showing Thursday, and then Sunday at 4pm. :woot: all I want is CARS, CHASES, BOOM, CRASH, OMG ACTION.

Also, comingsoon.net has more faith in this not being a total bomb.

$27.2 Million prediction, first place.
