Need For Speed

Back from seeing the film. It has the best cinematography I've seen this year, and also, Aaron Paul is awesome in it.

Nah man it's shot in digital therefor it's apparently sh***y... :o

Movie is visually beautiful and the race scenes, car action....:yay: well, needed that e-cig after the movie.

Sadly, script ain't all that, but def worth a afternoon showing in theaters. Saw it tonight for 1st time at 9:50 and theater had a small crowd that seemed to like. Will go again Sat or Sun with niece and maybe Dad.

:o note to self, never see Battleship sunker Mr. Peabody and Sherman.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman have a laugh, sink both Need for Speed and Single Mom's Club hopes and dreams. NFS at $18-19M weekend #2/#3 spot. SMC #5 9.5 to 9.8M weekend.

:o
yes I know, not the target audience, but didn't think for one second a kids movie would beat out second week of 300 and 1st week of Need for Low Gas.

It's okay, I see it again Saturday. #NoSequel

Okay maybe, overseas could be huge.

Never underestimate the power of kids wanting to see stuff along with the two/three extra tickets the guardians have to buy with.

On the topic of the movie, I saw it in a pretty full theatre earlier around 9:30. I definitely liked it, as it was more or less a driving revenge flick, and the little nod to Bullitt was cool. Paul brought the usual A game, and that ability to cry on cue was not wasted. Imogen Poots actually was the breakout character though as she was much more comic relief than I thought. She was probably the funniest character in the flick even though she was supposed to just be the love interest.

You seem to really have a thing for this movie enterthemadness. Is it because of Aaron Paul?

The second trailer (full trailer) and some of those tv ads I really like. I've probably seen the full trailer well of 30 times. This and GODZILLA I wanna see twice in theaters. :o even had to whip out the ol e-cig after the movie, cause those car action scenes were ****able haha.

NFS was #1 Friday with 6.5M+ though. Maybe $7.5M saturday and say $6M Sunday for imho $20M weekend. Maybe it can hit $21M if Friday estimates come in a bit over $7M. I think it will finish $50-60M Domestic now, bummer. I wanted a franchise. :o it pulled a Robocop reboot flop. Oh Keaton.

It's so crazy that the movie was predicted to make 30 million..now it's like 18-19? Awful.

I remember that goofball who kept on plugging Getaway endlessly. I was so mad because it was not only spamming..but this sort of self promotion is for a major release from a major studio. If it was a small short film, or something indy that's a different story.

I mean...Getway had Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke for Pete's sakes. I don't care if that had friends who worked on it; they don't need his help.

Is this movie good?

If I'm bored next week I might check it out. Better then Robocop?

I actually really enjoyed it for the most part. Pacing was inconsistent and the characters were not that relatable, but Aaron Paul was great and the action was excellent.

It's not good but its really entertaining because of the incredible car scenes. And seriously that's the only reason anyone was going to see this anyways. The dialogue is no worse than any of the fast and furious and the acting is way better.

Predicted, but tracking at boxoffice.com was $19M a week ish out, then shot up to $23M days out. The imdb board was dead, it was wishful thinking and fake studio hype and predictions for $25-30M.

I think ETM made this movie. We've got another #getaway situation here :o

:o no, just like Godzilla reboot, I'm in love with a movie. Saw it twice, just got back from afternoon showing. I buy blu-ray now. Oddly enough, not that excited for Captain America 2. Trailers haven't grabbed me. Neighbors with Rogan and Efron...I wanna see that :yay:

Getaway had red hot Hawke in it and it bombed. I was shocked.

I feel it's better than F&F 3 thanks to car action. Script wise, it's on par with F&F 3. F&F 4 and 6 have better script and story. And I barely recall those movies, but I still feel those movies had more substance. Never cared to see F&F 1 and 2, seen parts of them. The drifting in 3 and Justin Lin made me a casual fan. Still need to see 5. :o kinda like how I need to see the Hulk reboot, but I was like 'Eh' and saw Avengers anyway. Never seen Thor 1 or 2 as well. :o I'm a bad fan.

Film is dropping. Dropped to 3rd with an estimated $18m-18.3m.

It will hit $19M to $19.5M. $6.6M Fri and now $6.9M Sat. It will hit $6M Sunday. Maybe down to $5.8 Sunday.

Traffic increased Sat a bit, it should hold well Sunday to break $19M.

EDIT- Okay, didn't know movies dropped HARD on Sundays. If it does 5M Sunday, it should hit 18.5M.

The only movies that don't drop hard on Sunday are strong family films. :funny:
