Fantasy Netflix's The Witcher - General Discussion Thread

So the woman DarthSkywalker is referring to is in her 30s. Meaning she's older than Anya Chalotra.
Cavill dated Tara King when he was 32 and she was 19. You know, the same age as the actress who plays Ciri here. You understand Google enough to know how old his current girlfriend might be, but not to consider his past relationships?

That's not the type relationship Geralt and Ciri have and it never should be or will be. And it doesn't look that way either.

Terrible attempt to move the goalpost. You tried to be clever and failed miserably. Take your loss with some dignity.

The SFX looked again very cheap. Nivellen looked like a monster from theHercules or Xena series.

Glad we are getting a season 3 and another anime film, not too sure on the "kids and family" series but I get the impression Netflix are going to try and turn this into their "MCU universe" and milk the franchise for all its worth, ok if its good stuff but if its quantity over quality then its just going to annoy more people in the end, if they try and water it down too much I'm out.

if the 2nd season won’t be a huge success, than they sit on a pile of projects, that might attract only just a few people.
I couldn’t wait for season 1 back in 2019…but every trailer for season 2, doesn’t impressed me. I‘m going to watch it, when it comes out, but I probably watch other more anticipated series and movies first.

Netflix arent shy in cancelling things though, Im sure they will put the breaks on fast if things dont go over too well, the first one seemed quite popular even if the reviews were pretty mixed but the animated film got some good reviews and seemed to go over well, I enjoyed the first season a fair amount, more than most here, but can recognise there was a lot of room for improvement so I am interested to see what changes and improvements they make. Vesemir at least looks on point but I need to see a better season 2 trailer to make a better judgement and then its only a trailer.

Netflix at least seem confident in the project so far which is at least something.

Witcher is giving me fantasy fix and despite it's issues i enjoyed S1 and hope they amped up the budget in S2 i just wish this was somewhere else where the budget is adequate the monsters looked like poo in S1

Well, I wouldn't expect much on that aspect.

Some were ok. I mostly remember the really crappy ones like Urcheon of Erlenwald or the Devil of Posada and the dreadful cgi use in Hirikka and the dragon.

To each their own. Seems like a pretty good representation of what was depicted in the books:

The dragon looked awful - in design (but maybe how the creatotor envisioned it) but mostly the sfx

They clearly didn't have a lot of time or money to do right by the dragons, but I thought Urcheon and the Striga all looked good. The footage of Nivellen I believe also looks like good makeup work.

I honestly didn’t mind the much maligned dragon; after GoT, any lesser dragon is going to look cheap by comparison.

Now the goat boy on the other hand…

Nobody will escape Hissrich' kinks when it comes to armors in Netlix Witcher.
