Well they do have ad revenue now.
Hemsworth’s journey began with a phone call in 2020, while he was home in Australia. “My agent called me and said they were interested in me stepping into the world of Geralt, and continuing on with this series,” the actor recalls. At first, he wasn’t sure if he wanted to take on the role, but an early conversation with Hissrich helped ease his doubts. “I felt like I was going to have the support and the confidence that I needed to really pull it off,” Hemsworth says.
Maybe they thought about recasting Cavill after season 1 already?
2020? That has to be a mistake as Cavill didn’t leave until 2022.

Could be that he got the year wrong, that strikes me as an easy slip up considering how long preparing for a role, shooting and the release can be.
Like, look at it...the show started 2019, we are now 2025 and it enters season 4.
Wait...WTF? How is this a great way to do Shows nowadays?
Slight off topic rant:
8 Episodes per season, 4 seasons in the span of 7 years? Thats an awful way to make shows.
Like, it doesnt need to be the 23-24 episode format we know from TV...but that cant be it either.
Just 8 episodes, having to wait years between seasons and all that.
The article has indeed been adjusted to say 2022.
