They came onto the scene with the fun 80s action style movie CRANK, and from there wrote Pathology, Jonah Hex, and directed CRANK 2 and GAMER.

Pathology went STV
CRANK 2 did less business than the first
and GAMER is hitting way under expectations.

So, will CRANK 3 still happen, or will this team that was once thought to be surefire hits for Hollywood going to disappear? Discuss.

They should just keep making Crank movies. Just keep having Chelios coming back to life or whatever. Statham can do the role into his 60s.

Has Lionsgate announced CRANK 3? Even though I didn't like the second CRANK I'd still love to see a third.

I have no clue. They should though. I thought Crank 2 was just awesome. Would love to see where else they can take it.

I think they should team-up with the guys who made Machine Gun Girl and make the weirdest movie of all time.

What's next for them? Hopefully director jail.

probably a superhero movie.....Although I wouldn't mind seeing them take on something with a big budget.

After the grosses of Crank 2 and Gamer, I wouldn't hold your breath for seeing anything with sizable budget.

After seeing the action scenes in Crank and Gamer I can't fathom why you would want to see them do Deadpool... Is it based solely on their moronic 2-THA-EXTREME sense of hip ironic detachment? Or the fact that trade in shallow, juvenile one-dimensional filmmaking?

No, it's to do with it being satire and insane.

I haven't seen Gamer but the Crank movies are very good satires IMO. The over the top action and violence isn't there for the "WHOAAA EXTREME!!!" dick heads. It's CLEARLY taking the piss out of those sorta people and the ridiculous parts of American culture in general. How can people not realize this?

The only people who shouldn't realize this are the people they are taking the piss out of. Namely the "WHOAAA EXTREME!!!" muppets we speak of. Because they are thick as **** and are just like "WHOAAA EXTREME!!!" :funny:

It's like Grand Theft Auto. It's satire.

And Deadpool is satire.

And after reading their Jonah Hex script I think they could nail the more cerebral, psychological side to Deadpool as well.

I know you know your movies Episode so I really am surprised you didn't realize this. The only explanation I can muster is that you haven't even watched the Crank movies or you watched them once and didn't really look into them as much as you do other films.

I really doubt that Fox would allow Neveldine/Taylor to do their own thing with Deadpool: no rated R and probably a more traditional movie.

Then that takes away the appeal of Deadpool. The appeal of Deadpool is that he isn't your traditional character. You take away the satire and all that and all you are left with is a wise cracking action hero that has been done to death a million times over.

And Deadpool wouldn't even need a big budget. 60-70 mill tops.

But yea I know it is HIGHLY unlikely to happen. But I just think these guys would do wonders with a Deadpool movie.

It theory, it would work however. I'm not trying to burst your bubble or anything. haha.

Honestly the Crank movies are half way there in terms of Deadpool. They're closer than what we got in XO: Wolverine and closer than we're lucky to get in his spin off.

And that's why it disappoints me that they'll never get the gig. :( They'd be perfect. Either them or Robert Rodriguez. But Rodriguez doesn't do satire like them.

I love how weird their movies are. They rule. I will see whatever they make.

The cam work and editing on GAMER made it hard to follow the actions scenes, but the comedy was gold, and right on target everytime.

Terry Crews singing a DISNEY song after killing someone standing around butt naked is hysterical.

Loved Crank...haven't seen Crank 2 or The Gamer yet though.

Crank 2 is completely bat **** insane. Even more so than the first one and that is saying something. I think that's why it did so poorly at the box office, it's just so ****ed up. Not saying that is a bad thing though.

That, and people dont respect stupid fun action movies any more. If anything resembles a 80's Arnie movie, they turn their nose in disgust. But line up to see Wolverine, Transformers, or GI JOE.

Its sad. :(

These guys need to stay in business.

In a perfect world, Fox would get them to do an R rated Deadpool flick. Don't ever think that would happen.

But then again I didn't think Bale would really get cast in Batman Begins, and Norton was signed to play Bruce Banner in the Incredible Hulk. Stranger things have happened.
