i think the reason they made the suit a little darker is because batman will be in more scenes with brighter lighting. in BvS he was in darker environments and the bright grey helped light him.

Have to say, I think I actually prefer the new suit.

Anatomically correct sculpted musculature on a suit is stupid.

The JL suit does the job the TDK suit should have done, and the job the BR suit did do - it takes the original design and improves on it visually and practically. Though I'm not so sure about the apparent darkening of the grey. I liked the bat logo sticking out more in contrast. Other than that though, I'm happy with it

How does the guy above me not notice the massive similarity to Night Owl the way they changed the sculpt of the cowl?

The ears hook and seamlessly blend in ear to ear. As opposed to the more classic horn like approach where each ear blends into the top of the crown not the other ear. Thus like Night Owl just slightly less dramatic but just as goofy looking.

And everyone was praising grey and black. This looks closer to all black but with a shiny sheen to it. Kind of an oxymoron. Let's make it all black but really shiny!!

Also everyone who praised the beastial organic approach to the Batman in BvS and thew shade at the Nolan Trilogy's more realism, tactical approach need to be eating crow now. For starters it mimmics the more stream lined cowl. No more thick animalistic neck in turn for a slimmed down one, ala TDK/TDKR. And once again it's basically back to being all black. The kicker it being more tactical paramilitary looking with its armor padding, and less the gargoyle organic musculature hidden armor.

Kind of hypocritical I'd say.

If you want to introduce inorganic-looking armor (akin to the BvS concept art), you should reduce the organic quality of the suit's musculature. No more sculpted abs, for starters.

i agree boom. to me the strangest part are the abs. i think we will never see them in the movie but it still looks strange.

I think there is a big chance that the changes were ordered by WB.

Not to mention the unnecessary metallic sheen and darker color. The cowl also just looks silly in my opinion. Definitly a step backwards, the suit was (for me) the only good thing about BvS.

Exactly, and though I felt the neck could have been slimmed down some and the traps lowered a bit on the BvS suit, they didn't need to change the cowl shape and completely muck up the suit as a whole. The suit looks like a cheap Power Ranger knock off in shiny granite. Honestly so far the whole project feels like a CW TV movie and not a huge big budget production.

Well, it already has, really. In terms of construction, the AO suit is just like the TDK suit. The plates are designed differently, of course, and that definitely makes a difference.

All of this. It is completely the same for me. To the things I prefer, I'd just add the shape of the mouth opening.

And I agree about the color, it doesn't look that dark in the "teaser".

I'll wait till I see it in action to judge. I don't like BvS suit of Superman on promo images, but in the movie it looks FANTASTIC. Major improvement over MoS suit. I hope it's the same situation with Batman's new suit.

The new suit is decent, but the coloring makes everything hard to differentiate. The belt, gauntlets, logo don't have the same aesthetic pop as the BvS one did.
