New Devil May Cry 4 Hands on

Wait till Mission 10/11. There will be an interesting conversation between Nero and Dante. It hints at a lot of things.

Another thing. If any of you read the stuff they were showing during the installation screen, you might have noticed the character Nelo Angelo from DMC1. It was discovered that Nelo was the result of a translation error. The real pronounciation...? Must I really say?

Ok....im stuck :csad:
I'm at the bit where you have to go back to head quaters so i guess i just gotta go all the way back to where the game first started?

btw im only on like lvl 4 or 5

EDIT: dont worry, i was thinking i had to backtrack and forgot about the bridge.

I did the same thing. :o I actually went all the way back, but it was okay. It actually allowed me to get a blue orb piece I had missed earlier. :D

I read a couple of the screens, but I missed that one.

Does Dante know what Nero is?

Can I just point this out, from the Capcom blog about installing it on the PS3

"You’ll be amazed how fast levels load, the virtually instantaneous transition from cut scenes to action and that you’re continuously playing the game, as opposed to staring at loading screens of a door opening every time you move from one room to the next."

Why are they touting that as an example? What other next-gen game requires you to load after every door you open? I only played the demo of DMC4 but that was the first thing that struck me. I haven't seen a load time (no matter how short) after every door since the old Resident Evil days.

As far as I'm concerned there is no excuse that unless the game is installed on your system, there are short load times between new environments.

Apparently the 360 version has the slow load times because Microsoft wouldn't sign off on the almost 5g download to the hard drive. They didn't want that done because not everyone with a 360 has a hard drive. Is it something to really be throwing around as a system decider? Not really, but it was certainly enough to convince me to pick up the game for my PS3 instead of my 360. :o

The load times are only 2-5 seconds faster on the PS3

But, that's not what I'm saying.

Why did Capcom build a game with load screens after almost every door? I'm pretty sure we are past the need for that in this day and age.

Really? The load time differences are that insignificant?

Depending..

"That being said, this isn't a major short coming in the 360 version. Indeed, we beat the 360 version in entirety before turning our attention to the PS3 and didn't really have any issues with the loading screens. The difference ultimately boils down to a matter of seconds. The 360 will have you wait 10 seconds, say, while the PS3 one has you twiddling your thumbs for 5 seconds. If you're looking for differences, you'll definitely find them, but in the course of a normal play-through it shouldn't be a crucial issue for most players. If you do have both options available to you, however, the extra zip you'll get on the PS3 is a nice bonus."

So it isn't that big of a deal.

This game sucks. It looks like a PS1 game with better graphics. Nothing next-gen about it.

This game is awesome so far. Hopefully I can see it running in 720p when I go to my brother's house (I've got one of those old garbage TVs that only does 1080i). I didn't think I was going to like Nero as a character, but thus far he has really grown on me. I managed to snag the last copy of the PS3 special edition at my local Gamestop, so I'll have to check out Disc 2 and the Anime sampler disc when I get the chance.

 Pretty sure 1080i is better than 720p.

I think it is, the I just means it only goes HD when theres a HD source, such as a ps3 or a HDtv chennel.

where as the P ones just are always in HD and improve the picture quality whatever you have on.

Not necessarily. If teh game's native resolution is 720p then it will look better in 720p. I know CoD4 is one game that looks worse in 1080i

SO i done it on easy today :
I thought it was a pretty good story, nice intro to Nero. i think this is the rumor going around about Nero, but im really convinced that hes Virgils son.

I never expected Gloria to be Trish as well lol and you could tottally see up her dress :o

Also later on im gonna try and get the Full ending by protecting Kyrie while the credits roll, its really annoying the if she gets hit just once thts it lol

I almost done it the first time but didnt quite get there, anyone managed to do it?

I think it's much more likely that Nero is either a reincarnation of Vergil or he's simply a human and Vergil has inhabited his hand in some effort to return to the human world. It seems like the timeline would get majorly screwed up if Nero was Vergil's son. He would have had to been conceived prior to the events of Devil May Cry 3, and Nero seems to old for that. Not to mention, why wouldn't there have been any mention of Vergil's son before now anyway?

It wouldn't screw it up that much. say Dante is 40 then thats a 20 year gap between DMC3 and 4. Its belivable that Virgil hooked up with someone just before the events of DMC3. Also Lady was like 16 so she would only be 36 or 35 if you Make nero 19 or even 34 if you make him 18. I think that suits everything.A number of times it was said that Sparda's blood ran through nero's veins so that indicates he is related to sparda. and the reason he cant fully DT he beacuse he is only quater demon. Also from what i can gather Nero has had the arm since he was born. I'm just not keen on it being a case of virgil possesing nero,i think him being Virgils son is much better.

The blood of Sparda running through his veins could simply be because of Vergil posessing him. Nero's arm hasn't necessarily always been like that. In fact, the first time Nero triggers he says something along the lines of, "Ever since this arm awoke I've heard the voice within my head...'Power...give me more power'. If I must become a demon to protect her then so be it...anything to protect her." Obviously that isn't word for word, but it's pretty close. He's hearing Vergil's voice inside his head. He also mentioned his arm "awakening". That leads me to believe that the situaion with his arm is fairly new. Besides, has he worn a cast on his arm to conceal it for his entire life? No. His arm recently became like that and he's been faking the injury to try and hide it from the others.

I wasn't planning on getting this, at least not yet, because every new 360 game, here, costs 70euros. DMC was 47, so I got it.

At the end he says "i always was mad at god for making my arm like this" so that leads me to belive he's already had it. maybe it could be both, so then there would be a reason for Virgil being in Nero.

I gotta go work now so i'll be back to talk about this later :D

Beat the game

the game tells you the history of DMC at the end, and reveals that Nelo Angelo is the trapped soul of Virgil in a demon body. Virgil is controlled by the Demon Emperor Mundus..aka, the bad guy of DMC 1

They reveal all that in the original game.

 Pretty sure 1080i is better than 720p.

It is, but unfortunately Devil May Cry 4 doesn't support it. And since my parents' TV only supports 1080i, the game will only run at 480p. Most games don't play in HD on it, which is why I'm hoping to get my own TV at some point. My parents are planning on getting a nice flat screen when we get into our next house, but by then I'll be living in a dorm, so I'll need a new TV anyway.
