Her mother was afraican, her father was american - she was born in america so carries citizenship there and has an US passport, but she is dual nationality by blood. If both her parents were Kenyan but they had taken her to the US to be born while they worked there or something, then that would give her a dual passport as well.

EU and Commonwealth citizens I would say should be a no to Excalibur if constructing it on the basis of UK members as it is lead by and founded on the basis of a hero and mythos who derives the strength of his powers (in the old days) from his proximity to the British isles. Captain Britain is a hero of the realm and as such the team should be comprised of UK heroes. It'd be nice if it were a citizen based team, like Alpha Flight - but I never had a problem with the multi national roster of the first line up. I wouldnt want a 'Premier EU Superteam' just cos everyone lumps us in the UK with the rest of Europe.

Brian, Pete, Meggan, Micromax, Chamber, Siryn and Wolfsbane would be a good line up. But the current one is just fine with me - it should be a team who has to work to form a cohesive unit. Not one of old friends who get along like a house on fire.

Just a couple of points...

-Kenya requires only one parent or paternal grandparent to be of Kenyan citzenship for children to be eligibal for Kenyan citizenship themselves.

-Why shouldn't EU and Commonwealth citizens be eligible for Excablibur?

- The UK is obligated to the defense and protection of all commonwealth states even though they have their own military defense (eg. the five party defense agreement). Though this has never come into practise.

- With the UK's national security interests are determined by the EU constitution and therefore are obligated to defending Europe as a whole, just as other European countries are obligated to defend the UK.

-And if you think Excalibur should only be UK members why is Siryn on you list? She's from the Republic of Ireland, not Northern Ireland.

What I am saying is, that because the whole Excalibur coming together, Captain Britain leading them (and meant to be leader in the first incarnation but eventually ceded it to Kurt) and Captain Britain's powers being derived from the land/realm of Britain itself all comes from Merlin's manipulations and goals and he is a mythological figure based on British fokelore about a British King; Excalibur should be more centred around English, Irish, Welsh and Scottish heritage - the fact that Northern Ireland is now separate from the Republic, and Britain includes in its commonwealth a number of other countries that are not within the British isles is neither here nor there. Those are all modern time (relatively speaking) changes to the world map and conquests of the empire. Its not like Merlin went "Oh, well, now Britain has taken over India for a time I better extend the magic field that provides the Champion of the realm with his power. Oh, and most countries across the channel have all meshed together in an argumentative collective - better include them in it too".

I just like the idea of Excalibur having mythical origins and reasons for being instead of anyone with superpowers who lives in a UK related country joining. Fighting enemies across in mainland Europe - sure, go for it. But it'd be nice if Britain had a team composed entirely of Brits - just to show we've still got it.

I've got nothing wrong with the team being led by Brits, but think is still room for some mainland Europeans. God knows the French and the Germans wouldn't let it succeded without some of their citizens on it insuring the safety of the region.

And regardless of what merlin did, it is present day boarder and citizenship recognition that effects how teams are formed. So siryn couldn't just show up as a member of Excablibur and defend the british isle because merlin doesn't see a distinction. She would be commiting treason under Irish law, going off and being a member of a foreign defense team.

No she isn't. She's from America. She just moved there when she was young.

When she moved back to the States she began adopting certain western habits. Her punk days are one example and other western clothes. Her behavior later on could be attributed to Western women. Signs of her African weren't illustrated explicitly. Hopefully that will change, regardless of how Halle Berry has portrayed Storm.

I'm sorry, am aware that there are more British characters. These are just the british mutants left after M-day on the 198 files, and couple of the top of my head.

Mr. Sinister is english, but he isn't a mutant.

Daytripper is Amanda Sefton (Magick II) and Nightcrawlers foster sister.

Personally i don't think that the Excalibur team should just be a mutant team ( I know Cap Britain is not a mutant), but there should be more non-mutant British Heros.

This was a team founded by Americans and British in London...why is there a need of more EU members?????

Well the teams purpose is for defence of the region, and is being financed by a british inteligence agency.

Technically speaking then all American individuals then are committing treason for serving on this team. And since the UK is a member of the EU, its defence and military activities are co-ordinated and normalised with the rest of Europe.

My Excalibu team would be UK based, and all members would be European.

Pete Widsom (British - English): Has to be on it otherwise the government wouldn't fund them, and he'd also act as the leader.

Captain Britian (British - English): He just has to be on the team

Empath (Spanish): He's a bit of a coward, but he has been trying to make up for his criminal Hellion past. Excalibur as Europes premiere superteam would allow him to do this since he is a Spanish national. And would be interesting to seem him serve on the same team as Magma.

Nightcrawler (German): I miss him in Excalibur, thought his time on the team was the best we ever saw of him.

Nocturne (German/Transian/Latvarian???): Wanna see more of Nightcrawler and Nocturne serving on the same team, hopefully explore their connection with nocturne's mother the Scarlet Witch.

Monet (French) - She's an EU citizen, and would love to see her diva like banter with Pete Wisdom, and keep up the attitude with Wolfsbane.

Wolfsbane (British - Scottish) - She was my favourite Excalibur character.

Magma (British/Nova Roman???) She was deported and exiled from the British isle's it was never explained why, would be interesting to see her return to the UK...and serve on the same team as Empath.

What would really suck is if he had to wheel around a portable device to replicate the functions of "most" of his internal organs. I say most cuz duh, there are some you can't live without.

Maybe Forge has FINALLY gotten around to helping Chamber. I say Forge could've helped him when he still had his powers too. The man can invent anything..So Chamber probably now has some faux-bio-organic organs and skin now...and face....Forge could've done the same for him with powers and have a way for the fake organs to be a way for him to better focus and channel his abilities.

yes Chamber is back and i totally don't like new Excalibur but i'm picking this issue up just because of chamber and how he is able to live normally again.

well we don't know if he is living normaly. if he's just still hooked up to a machine unconcious as a patient transfer i'll be pissed.
