It does seem pretty weird,especially since the interviews were taken 4-5 days apart at the most.

maybe he wasn't sure he wanted to make more movies so he was reluctant to return but ended up having a really good time making the movie so is looking forward to doing the third before retiring.

Oldman probably change his mind on wanting out of the contract or something. Some tend to change their mind from time to time, so I wouldn't be surprise on Oldman doing this.

And I read the interview. Pretty solid & Oldman give out some good talks on the questions.
