New GTA4 preview

Wow. that whole article pretty much translated into. We couldn't think of anything new, so we just waxed off GTA 3 for the next gen. I don't give a crap about graphics. Give me a crappy looking game with some substance.

I am seriously gonna have to reconsider buying this game.:

First you start an argument from a statement that was just a valid point.

And it's not a step back. You buy a game for the story, graphics and stuff like that, not the fact that you can't make you're character look like a wrestler mkay...

You clearly don't get GTA. The whole point of it is the magic of discovery, pushing the limits of what's possible in a game world. You do that by keep expanding and pushing, not by cutting out and cutting down. That's what always kept GTA ahead of the game, how it expanded gaming worlds....it wasn't the shooting, since other games do that better, it wasn't the driving, other games do that just as well, and it wasn't the story as apart from sa they were all pretty much movie rip offs.

See Maximum Carnage's post if you want to understand the issues with it, since right now you clearly dont, and he got it completely:

I think there are valid points on both sides but I think we should wait till the game is released before writing it off. Despite some of the changes, which I personally dont like, I have faith that Rockstar will deliver and hope they know what they are doing

Oh I have no doubt it will probably turn out good....the whole thing just feels massivly like an exercise in ''been here, done that'' though....I was at least hoping for a new location. Making it more like New York is kinda pointless....that's been done to death in free roamers like true crime and spiderman 2 and 3, and to a lesser extent in GTA 3....

WTF does my home country have to do with anything. I'm actually happy that we're breaking from the Union as it makes sure I'm no longer associated with people like you.

Different strokes for different folks and to be honest the things that we're losing are hardly fundamental to the gameplay and flying a plane around one city is, imo, silly. And he only understands it because he agrees with you so yknow...shhhhhhhhhhhhh Dracula

That is one of my main problems with this game. In GTA 3 I loved how it was obviously thinking of New York, but at same time created its own place. Now it is just blatantly New York, & I can tell you why right now. Free Publicity for when people start flipping out over its setting.

Rockstar over the years has become nothing more than a controversy ****e. They knew what they were doing with the Sex thing in SA. You can't leave code in like that, then lie about it, & expect nothing to happen.

Then they create Bully. Come on. Rockstar has no interest in creating anything original anymore. They just want money. I mean they even said in the interview that there are no Bike, & there might not even be custom f-ing radio stations!

Here is what I would like to see. I would like to see a city the size of the original Liberty City. Then:

1. Upgrade the safe houses into something with a little more substance.
2. Put bikes in the game!
3. Put some sort of walk-man in the game.
4. Upgrade the AI of the people. Like Radiant AI, so that they population goes down on the streets at night, & there are more shady people out at night as well.
5. Make the customizable car feature (although judging by how this game is de-evolving I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't in there as well)
6. Make all the buildings enterable. With actual crap going in them. Like Oblivion.
7. Make it so you can do real damage to buildings. Like Mercenaries. Just make it so the ones associated with missions can't be blown up until you have completed the mission.

The thing is. These things aren't going to happen because they keep puting all the processing power towards land mass. shorten the land mass, & add more depth.

There are new details about the game in the latest OPM UK. There will be a playable female. Heres a shot of her. Her name is Elizabeta and she will be playable for half of the game

You can now play as a female...truly this is next gen.


I think Rockstar have just given up on innovation and originality now.
